Bale is a 2-3 trick pony at best .. it's just that he has 2-3 very good tricks i.e. great driving at defenders, able to dribble past and unleashes a deadly shot.

And aren't they the three key attributes of an exceptional player?  What extra capabilities do you think he needs to add to his game?

Andy. You'll very quickly realise no one in here gives a fat shit about the championship. Including me.

Not true Dermo.

I'm off to Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich tomorrow.

Are you going to be throwing the kitchen sink down at Hope Works tonight seeing as you're up here? I certainly will be...

Went to the Sheffield event at Victoria Keys today to throw a bit of cash at the local labels. I was impressed with what was set up and the live artwork helped create a good vibe. I'd recommend a trip down if anyone is in the area.

The games were just horrible to watch. As mad as it sounds, I've actually enjoyed some of our defeats this season more than I enjoyed wins under McLeish last season (bar the last 2 games; they were pretty bad). Mainly cos we at least gave it a go, tried to play football, and Lambert showed he is tactically astute enough to set a team up to actually win a game. McLeish wins were pretty much flukes. The 3-1 at Stamford Bridge about a year a go was surprising, but more due to Chelsea being absolutely shocking than us being good.

Every game was exactly the same with no real change in tactics, no progress and just no awareness to how bad a job he was doing.
I have always watched every game, when I can, and never left the stadium or tuned out early. But his brand of anti-football wanted me to do that many times. You can't enjoy any of it.

That's the thing that's annoying me most as he's renowned for playing dogshit hoofball just like Steve Cotterill who we were unfortunate enough to have in charge last season.  Sean O'Driscoll on the other hand had us playing some great stuff at times… The second half against Leeds on Boxing Day being a prime example.

It's lose/lose for you. If you gain promotion you'll probably be stuck with him and have to deal with another season of dour football. If you don't, they'll keep him anyway.

If (and it's a big if) he gets us promoted I reckon I'll be able to cope with another season just for the sake of Forest being back in the top flight.  However if he doesn't get us up this season then I think he'll be ditched as this whole appointment has been made off the back of our new owners being ruthless.  To give some context SOD was appointed in the summer just after the Al Hasawi's bought us and we had a threadbare squad.  Since then we've signed fourteen players (including loans) and SOD managed to get them to gel relatively quickly so that we're in eighth place and only a point away from the playoffs… Quite an improvement considering we finished in 19th, 25 points away from the playoffs last season but not good enough for the new owners.

As such I think it's promotion or bust this season for McLeish… At least that's what I'm hoping.

Well thankfully McLeish's reign is over even more quickly than I expected... 41 days with one win in seven.  We still have our batshit mental owners though.

Cheers for this mate.

tbh this whole board has the worst layout i've ever seen. i post on many forums but just started a few months ago here because i just can't stand the structure of this board. there is just ONE single section where you can usually post your stuff.

we need one section each for:

music in general
dj sets
dj nights
off topic (football etc)
forum stuff (rules, suggestions...)

furthermore there should be one thread for a label or producer where you post the new stuff in. for example one topic called 'Henry Saiz - Natura Sonoris'. in that one people could discuss new releases and sets by him.

i really like the community here but using this forum is often a pain in the a**. it could be so much better.
on other boards i have thousands of posts and have been admin, but this one def needs some work!

bedrock is by far my fav label and digweed my fav dj but the usability here is just bad.
if anyone cares - i'd love to do something about that, just gimme a msg smile

I vote for this guy - he sounds like a do-er and definitely a winner.

Agreed.

Haven't checked in a while, but last time there was only about 5 people posting on it. Isn't taking new registrations either...

I didn't post very often but there were some classic threads on 4Four that had me in stitches...

Shame to hear it's gone downhill.

Would have been delighted with RDM.

Unlikely he would have dropped to the Championship though and to be honest I don't blame him.

Nottingham Forest. The poor bastards.

I'm still incandescent with rage about McLeish's appointment.  I'll support him and give him a chance as I do anyone who is chosen to manage Forest but I still think it's a fucking shit decision and I just can't fathom why the Al Hasawi's have decided to replace Sean O'Driscoll with him.

It's the first fuck up they've made as owners and I hope that ultimately they're right and I'm wrong but I just can't see it.  I'm convinced that given time SOD could have had us playing fantastic football and got us promoted in style and its a disgrace he hasn't been given that opportunity.

The only positive I can take from this situation is that it shows our new owners really mean business and that his brief will be nothing less than promotion this season (I'm well aware the chance of this happening is remote though).

Did anyone else do the same?

You just print out the order confirmation and it has a barcode on it mate. I think that's what classes as the ticket... That's what I'm doing anyhow.

Incidentally I can't wait for this... If its only half as good as his set at The Key a few years back it'll still be a stormer. Kitchen sink primed and ready!

It would be good to see Forest back in the top tier. Especially when you've got wankers like Wigan in there instead.

Cheers, I'm still in shock that we've been taken over to be honest!  It was about fucking time though and I hope you guys get investment too...  Would be good to have the two biggest clubs in the Championship (although Wednesday might have something to say about that) battling it out at the top of the table.

I do think Yorkshire is the only county that's smug enough to give itself it's own day.

Loads of things up here are named after it- Yorkshire Tea, Sauce, Bank, Bitter, Broadband, Sausage, Pudding, Day, Show, Fishcake, Tart, Crisps, A specific type of dartboard... and those are just off the top of my head - there's many more.

Also they call The Yorkshire Post "Yorkshire's National Newspaper" as though its a country rather than a county.

Saying all that I'm a big fan of the place - wouldn't have chosen to move here if I wasn't!

Both at home and out and about...
