One of the most productive Serbian producers — Erik Iker, better known as Ikerya Project — is quickly becoming a solid name in the uplifting trance scene. His new release on Abora Skies proves that his unique style of uplifting trance is sought after by many around the world.
This riveting track captivates you from beginning to end. Its uniqueness is apparent from the very beginning, where magical vocals & a simple duduk sound draw you in. A beautifully crafted breakdown consisting of guitar lines, vocal chants, and intriguing strings eventually builds into a brilliant drop and climax, something Erik is well known for.
Lovely November is also very clubby, so you can enjoy this track in clubs too. At 6:15, this is one of the shortest orchestral uplifting tracks ever made, so everything is packed into a short space, delivering maximum impact.
Algerian producer Balearía adds a different touch with his ethnic oriental chillout Antiquity Mix. Forgoing the usual electronic sounds, he instead relies on ethnic & tribal instruments mixed with vocals. It's a mix of many musical styles & genres, including ethno, new age, chillout, oriental, and epic.
Abora is always open to people who live to experiment with music!
Piping hot Canadian phenom Biologik continues to shine with "Stories", a gorgeous, soul-enriching progressive house cut. His latest composition follows numerous standout releases in recent months on Silk Textures, not to mention his 2013 artist album "Two" [Stellar Fountain], named by Beatport as one of the best albums of 2013.
Early on in the Original Mix, a cavernous bassline is joined by echoing vocal chants, which only reinforce the subterranean soundscape. Moody, foreboding pads join the mix, soon followed by the introduction of a stunning verse, delivered by Biologik himself. The groove gets chunkier and a few piano lines add texture, leading up to the main break. The titular vocal hook -- "It's in the stories that we say" -- offers a poignant climax.
Australian veteran Verve is a first-time contributor to Silk Textures, but his acclaimed work has been featured on various elite progressive house imprints (including his own FutureForm Music) over the past 5 years. A rolling groove infuses the track with a furious, club-flavored swing. Biologik's vocal is a welcome addition to the soundscape, as is the crescendoing top layer of the bassline, which greatly intensifies the mood. The anticipatory suspense is finally released just past the track's midpoint, when the chugging groove reaches its zenith.

Silk Royal's 60th release features a consistent contributor in recent months, Spanish sensation Vitodito. His first solo single on our imprint is romantically entitled "Tan Enamorados" (or "So in Love"). It begins, innocently enough, with a light, minimalist beat; as the song nears the quarter turn, a euphoric, layered lead begins to get filtered into the mix, as well as a flirtatious vocal sample, one of the most distinctive and memorable hooks. In the break, the emergence of additional bass layers, as well as a few more delicate side melodies, give the track some extra low-end and midrange weight. The drop to follow is unexpectedly explosive, which only adds more blissful vibes to the affair.
Orion Scott is a brand new alias of Full Tilt, whose memorable "Take Me Away" graced the esteemed Anjunadeep imprint last year. As "Timmy & Tommy", they also host a popular show on Ireland's Highland Radio and run a label of their own, Full Tilt Recordings. We are thrilled to present their work here, the one and only remix in the package. It kicks off with a filtered, 80's-influenced bassline, as well as a house-influenced rhythm section, while the hypnotic vocal sample from the original is teased into the mix. In the breakdown, the funky pad layers reach their full crescendo; all of the elements coalesce to "retro" perfection in the jubilant drop.

It is our great joy to present Shingo Nakamura's "Only Silk 02", the second edition in the annual compilation series, inspired by the acclaimed Frisky Radio show of the same name. A continuous mix of fourteen progressive and deep house cuts, written by a variety of celebrated international artists, "Only Silk 02" showcases the "classic" progressive house style of Silk Digital, as well as the signature deep house vibe of affiliate division Silk Textures.
Japanese sensation Shingo Nakamura is one of progressive's most beloved talents and an artist who has contributed more tracks to Silk over the last 6 years than any other. With an artist album and countless top-charting singles to his name, not to mention consistent radio support by many of the world's leading house, progressive, and trance DJ's over the last few years, Shingo continues to find inspiration as an artist, never failing to captivate audiences with his exceedingly emotive and visionary compositions. Leading, as usual, by example, Shingo features three brand new cuts of his own on Only Silk 02, as well as a previously unreleased remix by Talamanca of one of his most famous compositions, "Sapporo". Inspiring new productions by Arthur Deep, Dan Sieg (of Dan & Sam), Gal Abutbul, Outlook, Asten & Stendahl also grace this year's edition.
Here it is! A free remix EP for you all, featuring 8 new versions of songs from Sound Waves. Thanks to Dylan Leeds, Jienan Yuan, Kemmler, DeLorian, Cucaco Casswood, and XYZR_KX for the reinterpretations.
In this release, expression, execution, and emotional delivery are everything. Not surprisingly, Beyond the Stars was an instant hit with orchestral uplifting fans when supported by Armin van Buuren on A State of Trance.
The Original Mix sets the emotional tone using layered synth pads and rolling basslines building over a simple melodic pattern. As it enters into the break, it accentuates that emotion with a beautiful melodic violin-like synth line that carries and transcends listeners to the end.
Similar to the Original Mix, the Emotional Mix contains an extended break that amplifies and maximizes emotion with meticulous execution using a beautiful combination of instruments: Piano, choir, cello, violin, and light synth pad; the Orchestral mix, with a gorgeous orchestral break and an expressive, intimate violin, delivers a more serene, relaxing, and calm experience.
A perfect harmonic blend of Uplifting Trance, Orchestral, New Age, and Classical-Crossover influences that will give the listener a true uplifting, moving, and transcending experience.
Cloudive returns to Silk Textures with a triumphant follow-up to his previous "Feelin Lovin' / Try It Again" EP. Better known as Trance & Progressive talent Aleksey Yakovlev, Cloudive has successfully re-invented himself as a veritable threat in the exploding niche of deep house.
His latest effort, "I Wanna Know", is another smooth and groovy after-hours gem, centered on a titular vocal hook. A classic deep house bassline helps to guide the listener along, as well as a variety of atmospheric pads. The one and only remix in the package comes from fellow veteran Zan Preveé, whose last remix for our imprint received radio support from Above & Beyond. A chunky groove gives his rendering plenty of dancefloor appeal, while a variety of light arps and vocal stabs fill out the mid-range.

Three previously unreleased tracks from Shingo Nakamura's forthcoming "Only Silk 02" compilation are featured in the latest edition of "Royal Selections" on our imprint. The tracks in this package represent the more up-tempo sounds that Shingo is known to play at the end of his radio mixes and live sets.
First out of the pack is Shingo's own "The Four", a naturalistic and slightly melancholy progressive gem that showcases all of Shingo's great gifts as a musician. More specifically, a deep, pad-centered bass gives the track a powerful low-end weight, while crystalline arps and delicate piano themes gently float overhead. In the mean break, the central piano riff is given the full spotlight; it's truly one of most poignant themes Shingo has written to date.
Next up is British talent Outlook, a prolific progressive house artist who is responsible for a stellar oeuvre since 2011. His stormy progressive trance contribution, "Dynjandi", begins with a punchy kick and driving rhythm section, coupled with a high-octane bassline. A hypnotic, one-word vocal sample slowly emerges; the sample is extended into an ethereal full phrase in both breakdowns. Meanwhile, the groove continues to crescendo, in full, peak-hour glory, while lovely side piano melodies fill out the soundscape.
Last but not least, we are pleased to welcome Russian newcomer Stendahl with a fresh take on Mango feat. Richard J Aarden's "Pillow Fights". A buoyant groove and chord-based lead, very much in the Mango tradition, give the track an uplifting, floating-on-air quality, while Richard J Aarden's plaintive vocal offers an emotional counterpoint. The breakdown is a true highlight, as Aarden's vocal gets a fitting solo, followed by a very creative breakbeat interlude.

An artist whose sound has come to define our imprint, Japanese phenom Shingo Nakamura presents 4 new dynamic cuts, extracted from his forthcoming Only Silk 02 compilation. The tracks featured here, including his own remix of Lessov's classic "Bleyban", showcase the deeper side of Shingo's versatile artistic style as both a producer and DJ. In addition, previously unreleased tracks by Arthur Deep, Dan Sieg, and Asten are amongst the "Selections" that made the final cut.
The compilation kicks off with a moody and exceedingly emotive new interpretation of "Images" by American talent Dan Sieg (of Dan & Sam). The Original Mix, a peak-hour cut by British star Toby Hedges, proved to be a widely supported single on Silk Royal. An ominous and richly cinematic soundscape is crafted early on in Dan's rendering, with an extended 2-minute intro. A cavernous bassline enters the affair at the quarter turn, which slowly begins to crescendo (only enhancing the foreboding textures). Meanwhile, the poignant themes of the original add further mystery and intrigue to the evocative atmosphere.
Shingo offers a stunning new interpretation of Lessov's "Bleyban", originally a standout track on our deep-prog division Silk Textures (supported on radio by Armin van Buuren). The atmosphere is similarly ominous early on, as hypnotic arps sit atop a floaty, pad-centered atmosphere. A classically beautiful Shingo Nakamura piano riff is introduced, as a stormy, yet deep bassline gives the track a hefty, low-end drive. These elements patiently gather steam as the track progresses and prove to inhabit the listener's soul by the end.
Arthur Deep, one of Silk's founding artists, triumphantly returns to our imprint with a gorgeous vocal take on SNR & Rikkaz feat. Jan Johnston's very memorable "Beautiful Change" release. Over the years, Arthur's taste has shifted to a deeper style; the soothing, sophisticated, and heartfelt character of his work has remained a constant. There is a floaty, uplifting quality to this particular remix that will make you want to share a glass of champagne with a loved one, as Jan Johnston's incomparable voice and lyrics add to the romance.

It is our great privilege to feature veteran talent Sound Quelle on our imprint for the first time, with a two-track EP. He has released music with Enhanced and various other elite international labels, often in the trance & progressive genres. This EP showcases his deeper side, at which he has proven himself equally adept.
The title cut, "Without You", centers around a delicate and beautiful vocal hook, which is a recurring vocal motif throughout the track. Early on, a classically "resonant" deep house bassline enters the mix, giving the track a funky swing. Adding to the mellifluous soundscape are various piano lines, which add a refined, dare-we-say "aristocratic" vibe to the affair.
The B-side, "Night Time", is a slightly more up-tempo cut, yet no less poignant. Gorgeous strings and crystalline piano melodies transport the listener to an underwater utopia. Sound Quelle has a tremendous talent for melody, and he offers numerous variations on the lead themes in this one. When all of the layers coalesce in the latter half of the track, the result is deeply emotive and cathartic.

British talent Marsh has been responsible for a variety of fan favorites on both Silk Royal and fellow Silk division Arrival recently, including his recent remix of AeroSoul's "Strings Theory" and original cuts "Smiling At You" and "Wondering Why". Yet, perhaps no track by him has had greater impact than "Sleeping Now", which was featured as the "Record of the Week" on Above & Beyond's "Trance Around The World" (now "Group Therapy") radio show. We are delighted to present a brand new remix of this sensational track by Rodrigo Deem & Vitodito, as well as an exceptional remix of Marsh's "Waiting For The Mail Man" by Jayeson Andel, a first time contributor to our imprint.
Rodrigo Deem (Argentina) & Vitodito (Spain) both are coming off phenomenal years, in which they were supported heavily on many of the most celebrated trance & progressive radio shows; Above & Beyond have already kindly offered early radio support of their "Sleeping Now" remix, featured here. Hints of the original vocal hook are "teased" into the track early on, as a more "minimal" percussion pattern leads the listener to first of two breaks. After the mini-break at the quarter turn, a furious bassline begins to filter into the mix; it then erupts with massive intensity, giving the dancefloor a truly rocking groove. In the main break, gorgeous string and piano themes are added, and the ethereal beauty of the vocal sample is at its height.
Jayeson Andel (Canada) is an artist-to-watch this year; he has already contributed standout originals and remixes on Nueva Digital in recent months, and his productions are not only club-oriented, but consistently intricate and innovative. Andel presents an infectious hook early on in his interpretation: a series of syncopated vocal stabs, which punctuate an exhilarating bassline groove. In the main break, we are met by a lush, "natural" soundscape. Suddenly, a flirtatious legato lead takes hold of the track, while the percussion shifts to a powerful breakbeat rhythm. The lead is joined by a variety of layered synths, all of which hit with tremendous force in the drop to follow.

Jairus Miller has been one of the core Source of Gravity artists of the digital era since his debut in 2007. An artist album entitled "Dynamic Interlude" was released in 2009, and in 2010 he delivered a superb mix as part of the original Soundscapes mix series. It is therefore fitting that he provides the 3rd release on the new Source offshoot Soundscapes Digital. This 3 track treat comes hot on the heals of his excellent remix of Steve McGrath and Chris Sterio's "Meltdown" track.. Jairus is a favourite of many big name DJs, with Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo particularly being a supporter of this Maine, USA native's work. Enjoy!

To kick off 2014, we proudly welcome Israeli DJ-producer Lian July and Canadian vocal talent Eli to our parent label with the deep and sensual "Surrender". On remix detail, we're thrilled to welcome back global phenom LTN, whose consistently visionary work has appeared across countless Progressive & Trance radio playlists of late, as well talented label veteran Digital Sixable, whose own contributions last year proved to be some of the highlights of our catalogue.
The Original Mix kicks off with an energetic rhythm and deep bassline, as Eli, singing in a beautiful tenor, delivers the opening verse. Hypnotic, swirling pads offer great "dimension" to the soundscape, while various other flourishes are provided by additional synth layers, including a repeating organ motif. The groove continues to subtly crescendo throughout the track, and the titular vocal "hook" offers a gorgeous climax.
LTN contributes a pair of stunning remixes; both vocal and dub versions are included in the pack. A much deeper, "late-night" affair, his interpretation kicks off with a moody aura, as a variety of noir-influenced jazzy stabs build anticipatory suspense, leading up to the main break. Eli's soulful lyrics and emotive delivery are powerfully felt, as the more minimalist groove really allows the vocal to breathe. The instrumentation continues to pick up steam, as a guitar riff and crystalline, bell-tinged effects add wonderful melodic texture to the already lush soundscape.
Finally, rounding out the package, American sensation Digital Sixable offers a poignant 'Dub" take. A dark, after-hours groove sets the stage for a contemplative and soothing interpretation. The main melodic themes of the original have been beautifully re-worked on the piano; moving string effects reinforce the emotional impact.

Our latest release on Silk Textures features several phenomenal Japanese artists, including the debut collaboration between deep-progressive musicians isle & Nature One. The remix artists on this one, Masanori Yasuda and KIWAMU, are responsible for several standout tracks recently on their local imprint, Otographic Music, and have both remixed tracks by our resident star Shingo Nakamura.
In the Original Mix, isle & Nature One have composed a romantic and, at times, haunting lead theme. The lush, resonant bass is also notable in this impressive debut as collaborators. Masanori Yasuda plays with the melodies and offers several gorgeous variations, as well as a slightly more up-tempo rhythm. Finally, as you would expect from this promising talent, KIWAMU has painted a deep, yep exceedingly visual soundscape with his rendering. The tones in this one are especially soothing; the listener will drift along, until all worries are "Forgotten".

Fans of the 2002 Ibiza anthem "Touch The Sky" (29 Palms) will rejoice with just a quick listen of Mango's jubilant remake. Silk's most prolific artist has retained the sun-drenched radiance of the original mix, with its classic lead synth and piano melodies, while giving the overall track a huge facelift in the modern progressive style. Added samples and pads enhance the beachside vibe of the original, as well as a euphoric new arms-in-the-air breakdown. This free offering from Silk is the next best thing to an early morning stroll on the shores of the Mediterranean.
It is a special honor to feature Canadian sensation Biologik on Silk Textures once again. His innovative compositions are always rich in depth and atmosphere, often possessing an overpowering cinematic quality. Not surprisingly, Beatport recently highlighted his second artist album "Two" [Stellar Fountain] as one of the best albums of 2013.
His latest contribution, "Saffire", features a cavernous bassline and pad-centered soundscape. The groove picks up steam as it approaches the main break, where gorgeous crystalline synths begin to seep into the mix. The effects become more prominent as the low-end energy continues to crescendo. Biologik succeeds in vividly depicting a utopian subterranean world.
The second original contributed in the EP, "Forgotten Love", is an equally evocative, late-night progressive gem, with a darker edge. Various melodic layers, as well as a repeating vocal sample, paint a vivid and, at times, haunting soundscape.
Shane Robinson, who can always be counted on for an elegant deep-progressive take, offers a brilliant interpretation of "Saffire" to close out the EP. A resonant bassline groove sets the track in firm ground early on, as various atmospheric effects once again evoke a world inhabited by stalagmites and stalactites. The lead synth and pad progressions, intricately woven into the soundscape, leave an enduring imprint on the listener long after the song's conclusion.

Mango, whose unique brand of melodic progressive house inspired the creation of our imprint, returns to our parent label with "Pillow Fights", one of the standout tracks from his recent artist album, "Citylanes Airplanes". A collaboration with Richard J Aarden, the Original Mix features all of the distinctive elements of Mango's sound that have inspired us for so many years. More specifically, an uplifting chord progression and light, minimalistic rhythm create a "weightless" and deeply soothing soundscape. Aarden's soulful vocals and thoughtful lyrics are equally cathartic. The uplifting, yet slightly melancholic chords guide the listener into the main break, where a delicate piano and Aarden's pensive vocals reach even greater emotional depths.
Blood Groove & Kikis, who are now regularly supported by the industry elite on major house, trance & progressive radio shows alike, offer the one and only remix in the package. They are an especially suitable choice, given their great talent for both melody and atmosphere. Their interpretation, not surprisingly, offers a bit more of a DJ-centered groove, yet is no less soulful than the original. The main chords have been reworked, while the vocal remains the lead element of the track. In the main break, autumnal synths enhance the poignance of Aarden's gorgeous vocals.

One of the highlights of our back catalogue, "A Call From The Future" by Technical Lovers, receives two stellar new interpretations by fellow label veterans Konektiv (a.k.a. Daniel Mahuad) and Tuxedo. Konektiv's take kicks off with a chunky, filtered groove, as ominous, outer-worldly textures begin to fill out the soundscape. A humming bassline soon joins the mix at the quarter turn, and a hypnotic arp line slowly creeps in as well. In the main break, the arp layers completely take hold of the tune, entrancing the listener in a deep reverie. Polish talent Tuxedo offers a much deeper, more introspective take, but no less "escapist" in nature. A veritable soundtrack to life on a distant planet, the wildly innovative sound design offers a rich exoticism, as well as a soothing and sexy overall flavor.

Two standout talents in Trance & Progressive, Shawn Mitiska & Sedi, have joined forces on "Double Tap", a jubilant, peak-hour release, featuring an equally powerful remix by fellow American sensation SNR. Shawn Mitiska is one of the most accomplished artists on our imprint, having written numerous top-charting singles in his illustrious career. Most recently, his remix of Dan & Sam feat. Maxx Hennard's "Walls" appeared on Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" radio show three weeks in a row. Sedi & SNR have also been featured recently on the show, as well as "Jaytech Music" and Myon & Shane 54's "International Departures".
The Original Mix kicks out of the gate with the main chords, soon reinforced by a stormy groove. Light arps begin to fill out the soundscape as well, followed by one of the most enduring motifs in the track: a series of angelic vocal samples, which truly infuse the track with an ethereal, floating-on-air quality. In the main break, we are unexpectedly met by a poignant piano score, coupled with an equally moving string theme. The latter half of the tune, following a ferocious drop, features all of these beautiful melodic elements in perfect unison.
With a slew of well-supported singles and remixes this past year, including "Beautiful Change" (a collaboration with Rikkaz & Jan Johnston) and "Kumba", as well as numerous DJ events at some of the biggest festivals & clubs in California, it is no wonder that Bay Area-based talent SNR is making waves. His innovative, genre-bending style is on full display in his "Double Tap" remix, which kicks off with a stadium-rocking bassline and layered lead chord sequence. A short mini-break at the quarter turn makes way for a wildly euphoric melody, coupled with the heavenly vox. In the main break, SNR treats us to a short progressive dubstep interlude, followed by an inspired and truly explosive drop.

Aeron Aether has been an integral contributor and dear friend of our management team since the earliest days of Silk's development. With an original goal of showcasing "intelligent breakbeat" along with progressive house to represent our imprint's brand, we looked to Aeron as a leader of the genre, whose sound could help define the "progressive" variety of breaks that we had grown to love. Over the past five years, Aeron has not only written many of our personal favorites, including the collaborative vocal track "Searching For A Memory", but also embraced a role as our label's chief mastering engineer, overseeing the final mixing of innumerable cuts across our 5 divisions.
This 11-track retrospective kicks off with the fan favorite "Synthanelia", a breathtaking hybrid of orchestral instrumentation, trance-influenced synths, and clubby, peak-hour progressive house beats. These sounds could all fairly be described as Aeron Aether signatures, especially the soaring and often hauntingly beautiful strings. Other highlights include the aforementioned "Searching For A Memory", a collaboration with fellow label muse Mango, as well as a pair of collaborations with his occasional production partner Elfsong. Anyone who has ever had the privilege of knowing Aeron can attest to his exceedingly kind and generous nature, not to mention his exceptional talent as a composer.
