eleven.five, the veteran American talent, continues to write inspiring and cinematic music, from deep house to trance. His latest single, "The Beginning", was recently featured on Silk Royal Showcase 04 and proved to be one of Tom Fall's favorites on his mix.
The track begins with a euphoric and equally hypnotic arpeggio line, soon followed by a suspenseful piano theme. At the quarter turn, a roaring, multi-layered bass line emerges, which contributes a tremendously powerful low-end force. In the breakdown, the piano and string themes are offered the full spotlight, while the poignant lead arps creep back into the mix. The climactic drop to follow offers a knockout blow.

We're delighted to present a new EP by Sound Quelle on our parent label, the second to arrive on Silk Music this year by the phenomenally talented Russian veteran. An artist who is capable of writing textured and emotive music in numerous sub genres of electronic, Sound Quelle has chosen progressive as his medium of artistic expression this time around.
Already supported on Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" radio show, "Piece of Cake" jets out of the gate with a stormy groove and an ominous soundscape. Specifically, a haunting vocal sample soars above a beautiful piano motif. In the second half of the track, a roaring drop gives the track a ferocious, club-oriented rhythm. The next track, "Dusk", is also an up-tempo affair, featuring an uplifting chord progression and vocal stab sequence. A memorable lead theme in the main break is processed with an innovative delay effect, and the inspired drop to follow is also suitable for the dancefloor. Rounding out the EP, "Marmalade" is a much deeper cut, centering on a funky bassline. A signature theme of the track is a pitched-down vocal sample, which gently punctuates the summer-flavored groove.

Blood Groove & Kikis are in the midst of an unforgettable year. Their spring 2014 debut album, "Wonderland", is one of our proudest releases to date, and their exceptional work has now been embraced by fans of melodic dance music around the globe, as well as by a litany of acclaimed international DJ's.
The first single on our imprint to follow our recent Silk Royal Showcase 04 compilation release is "Falling" by Blood Groove & Kikis. A euphoric, repeating "teaser" chord crescendoes in the first quarter of the track, leading into the main break, where the listener is finally treated to the full sequence. In addition, ethereal vocal stabs spice up the melodic and sensual flavor of the track. The drop to follow, featuring the rapturous lead synth layers and vocal effects, soaring above a summer-flavored groove, is truly breathtaking.
LTN, an artist who has also gained universal acclaim for his prolific discography in recent years, offers a deeper, yet equally radiant interpretation. Centering on the stunning melodic motifs of the original, LTN's take offers a deep groove from the very beginning, as the synth lines slowly filter into the mix. In the main break and subsequent drop, the melodic themes are almost overwhelmingly lush and beautiful.

Responsible for numerous progressive contributions on our Silk Textures division, Canadian artist Biologik is not a newcomer to the Silk label family. On Silk Sofa, we are proud to present his brand new artist album, "Dreamcatcher", which is a collection of 12 downtempo and experimental tracks.
The album opener, "Winter", kicks off with a haunting, deep atmosphere, consisting of strong percussion elements and intermittent vocal stems. Later, an intriguing synth line brightens up the soundscape. "Velvet" starts out with smooth pad layers, and a combination of captivating melody lines and complex percussion structures brilliantly carries the song to its conclusion. In "Sublimate" we witness well-structured percussion lines, subtle arpeggio melodies, and light string layers in the background. A unique combination of prominent bassline notes and intriguing percussion elements is introduced in "Stars", which also includes a vast array of perfectly harmonized melodic elements. The fifth song is the just recently released "Rainfall", which includes a stunning combination of hard-hitting beat elements and lush, light melody layers. "Hibiscus" is another example of Biologik's great talent for crafting poignant atmospheres, this time with the addition of a notable bassline rhythm. A quite hypnotizing grooves established in "Free Your Heart"; the prominent hihats and underlying floating melodies unite remarkably well. "Feedback Loop" includes mesmerizing pad lines in the background, while a number of well-structured percussion elements provide an unmistakably memorable rhythm. In "Eclipse" we witness a haunting vocal stem, as well as a vast array of tranquil background melodies and subtle sound effects. A captivating soundscape is introduced in "Dreamless Sleep", beautifully accompanied by numerous refreshing percussion stems. "Building Snowmen" consists of a sweeping bassline synth, subtle piano melodies, a lush groove, as well as a truly captivating arpeggio theme line. The final track, "Breaking Mirrors", perfectly represents the album as a whole: intriguing melodies, well-structured and inspiring percussion lines, and hypnotic sound effects, all of which unite in a truly captivating context.

Barzek & Jethimself, hailing from Australia and the USA, present a glorious two-track EP to our parent label. Part of a new generation of melodic progressive house artists, this exciting new duo has a special talent for melodic, soulful, and often romantic compositions.
The lead track on the EP is "Everest", which, all puns aside, is a rewarding journey through a beautiful progressive landscape. In addition to the euphoric lead chords, a string arrangement in the breakdown transports the listener to the spiritual oasis of the Himalayas. This cut is paired with "Genesis", which was already previewed on our recent Silk Royal Showcase 04 release. Evocative instrumentation, with a clear Asiatic influence, highlights this emotionally nourishing gem.

Silk Royal is thrilled to present Silk Remixed 04, the fourth installment of the annual series, featuring various veteran talents and rising stars in progressive. Kicking off the compilation is Nigel Good's jubilant remix of "Sumr" by Dezza & Shoreliners. Fresh off his debut artist album, which reached #1 overall on Beatport, Nigel treats us to a sparkling, complextro-influenced progressive gem, rife with feel-good vibes. Vintage & Morelli, one of the standout artists from Silk's Arrival division, offers a fresh, peak-hour take on "Night Time" by Sound Quelle. A bouncy house rhythm sits below a stormy and evocative lead, punctuated by a haunting vocal sample. The main break is a goosebumps-inducing aural experience, as the vocal motif and piano poignantly coalesce. Aeron Aether's "Synthanelia" still finds a home in our radio and live sets; Jayeson Andel, a breakthrough artist on our imprint, offers a full-on trance stormer with his new rendering, which has received early radio support from Arty. The memorable string themes of the original soar above an adrenalin-fueled, stadium-rocking groove. French talent Matt Fax, another leader of Arrival, offers a new interpretation of one of Silk Royal's early releases, Pconvolve's "Cosmology". As the title implies, celestially-inspired synths transport the listener to the far reaches of the galaxy; a progressive breaks interlude and explosive drop in the latter half of the track are true release highlights. David Broaders closes out the first half of the release with an awe-inspiring interpretation of "Starman" by Gregory Esayan. A thunderous groove resolves into a beautiful piano and string-themed breakdown; these poignant melodies are some of the most enduring from the compilation this year.
New label recruit Illuminor, a rising duo from Australia, add a bit more punch to eleven.five's classic "Pinnacle". A highly innovative groove, as well as new variations on the main piano motif from the original, stand out in this fantastic new version. Trusty label veteran Sundriver offers a driving take on Denis Laurent feat. Kaisa Martina's "All I Need". A vintage lead chord progression, with numerous euphoric synth layers and arpeggios, paves the way for Kaisa's romantic vocal in the breakdown. British sensation Ben Coda, who has contributed in the past to the Silk Remixed series, returns with a peak-hour rendering of Zack Roth's beloved "Tekkadon". A clubby groove crescendoes into the breakdown, where the newly added, trance-influenced lead shines, alongside the memorable original theme. Russian duo Soarsweep, fresh off an EP on parent label Silk Digital, offers another visionary remix; this time, they have accentuated the emotive themes of "Both", originally a collaboration between Blood Groove & Kikis and LTN. Closing out the EP, Harold-Alexis, one of the stars of our chillout division (Silk Sofa), offers a drum & bass rework of Seagrave's "Storm". With bleeding-edge sound design throughout, this emotive track will be appreciated by fans in search of visionary, outside-of-the-box EDM.

One of our favorites from 2013's "Arrival 01: Destination United Kingdom" release was "Sighted", by Polish phenom Kobana. Supported on Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy", it quickly became one of the most identifiable tracks from the compilation. We're thrilled to present two brand new remixes of Kobana's techno-influenced progressive gem by fellow veteran sensations G-Tek and MoodFreak.
Hailing from Panama, G-Tek is one of the original contributors to Silk Digital; it has been our great privilege to witness the range and evolution of his work over the last six years. He has chosen to give "Sighted" a deep, funky, and provocative vibe. A slowed-down, summer-flavored groove centers on the resonant bassline from the original version; meanwhile, a variety of erotic vocal stabs and delicate pads add melodic sustenance.
MoodFreak's take is a deep-progressive affair from the very start. A few familiar motifs from the original, in addition to a plethora of new side melodies and background effects, create an ominous aura. The energy continues to crescendo, suggesting that the suspect has been "sighted" and is now on the loose. The listener is rewarded by the evocative, often cinematic layers in MoodFreak's rendering.

Silk Music is thrilled to present Silk Royal Showcase 04, the fourth installment of the annual series, once again mixed by Jacob Henry and Tom Fall. The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as veteran label talents Ad Brown and Zack Roth. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, Pure.FM, Tenzi.FM, Dance Paradise, and other radio platforms, Silk Royal Showcase is quickly approaching its 250th episode (www.silkroyalshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Podcasts in the world on iTunes. Carefully selected to represent the sound of Silk Royal Showcase radio, the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SRS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year. Silk Royal is truly privileged to receive radio support from the industry elite, including: Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Myon & Shane 54, BT, Chicane, Kyau & Albert, Super8 & Tab, Max Graham, Solarstone, Boom Jinx, Jaytech, and Ruben de Ronde. Veteran Russian duo Soarsweep returns to Silk Digital with a lustrous 2-track progressive EP. Never failing to weave patient grooves and intricate melodies through their compositions, Soarsweep does not disappoint with their latest contribution to our parent label, which kicks off with the intriguing "Mirror Ethnicity". An evocative soundscape transports the listener into a subterranean sonic wonderland, backed by sensual pads and the distant echoes of a variety of outer-worldly samples. The subsequent cut, "End Of Silence", is an elaborately melodic and romantic affair, centering on a bell-tinged lead synth and various other delicate and exceedingly emotive motifs.

In anticipation of the release of their two-part Silk Royal Showcase 04 compilation, Jacob Henry and Tom Fall are proud to present "Royal Selections", a sampler of standout tunes from the album. The four tracks chosen here represent the range of progressive sounds on Silk Royal Showcase 04, as well as the weekly label radio show from which it derives its name.
Kicking off the sampler is a stunning new remix by Blood Groove & Kikis, which was selected as the intro track on Jacob Henry's mix. Already a standout single on parent label Silk Digital, "Pillow Fights" has been remixed for the second time by the now globally recognized Latvian duo, whose "Wonderland" artist album recently catapulted them into the global Trance & Progressive limelight. The song features an extended, world-music-inspired introduction, centering on live congo drums, sweeping strings, and a gorgeous piano motif. In the latter half of the track, a euphoric progressive house groove offers a proper dancefloor swing, while Richard J Aarden's hauntingly beautiful vocal soars above.
Serbian duo Eastbound make their debut appearance on our imprint with "Lust", a stormy, yet emotive progressive gem. An evocative soundscape envelops the listener from the very beginning, while an electro-tinged bassline cuts through the low end. In the main break, we are met by a gorgeous piano solo, as well as a rapturous, trance-influenced new lead. The drop to follow offers a powerful catharsis to the listener.
With great joy, we welcome back Something Good, one of the first acts to sign with Silk Royal (back in 2009). Since that date, they have become top-charting artists, as well as well known DJ's in the club scene of their native Finland (and beyond). Their latest contribution, "Firebird", is a pull-no-punches club stormer, centering on a "fiery", layered lead and muscular rhythm section. Just as the song reaches its climax at the end of the initial build up, it pulls back to reveal a more sensitive side in the main break, highlighted by a gorgeous piano instrumental. The drop to follow is ferocious.
Finally, another new addition to our label, Russian act Montends, delivers the exhilarating "Waiting For The Sun". The track kicks off with an adrenalin-fueled trance bassline, heralded by the titular vocal hook. Following a captivating piano and string solo, a climactic trance lead appears in the main break, propelling the listener back out to the dancefloor.

Our latest release features Korean sensation Justin Oh, who just completed a North American tour, as well as several global Ultra Music Festival events. Needless to say, he has experienced a dramatic rise this past year, now being recognized as one of the leading new talents in Trance & Progressive. We're thrilled to share his latest single, "We Chase The Sun", featuring the stunning vocals of Jennifer Yun. On remix detail, we have recruited buzzworthy Canadian talent Jayeson Andel for his second Silk Royal remix of 2014.
The original mix is the welcome follow up to Justin's hit single "Always Running". Like its predecessor in the narrative, "We Chase The Sun" features heavenly vocal parts and Justin's signature neon-bright synths overtop inspired, peak-hour grooves. Meanwhile, Jennifer sings the key lyrical motif "it's a good day, today" with heartfelt gratitude, and her joy and appreciation for life is matched by Justin's exuberant instrumental.
Jayeson Andel is unquestionably an artist to watch in 2014, with numerous projects in development that showcase his extremely versatile range as a composer. This particular offering highlights Jayeson's specific talent for tasteful, big-room trance. A massive, layered saw lead blends emotively with Jennifer's soaring vocals and Justin's lush melodies. The drop that emerges at the start of the song's second half is unabashedly stadium-rocking.

The "Wonderland" artist album by sensational Latvian duo Blood Groove & Kikis proved to be a tremendous highlight in our parent label's 6-year history. The album broke through the Top 50 on the iTunes Dance chart and the Top 20 on Beatport (all genres). In addition, the album was kindly supported on radio by Above & Beyond, Kyau & Albert, and other leading global DJs. We are thrilled to present three new remixes of one of the standout album tracks, "Both", a collaboration with Indonesian phenom LTN. These three remixes were chosen as the winners of our latest remix contest, amongst over 100 wonderful submissions.
Russian newcomer Piramex, the grand prize winner of our remix contest, makes an exceedingly impressive debut with his peak-hour interpretation. Muscular beats and a rolling bassline give the track a stormy energy from the very beginning. Many of the original themes are enhanced in this new version, including the lead chords and poignant piano motif.
Ukrainian veteran meHiLove (a.k.a. Yuriy Mikhailov) follows with a glorious deep-progressive take. The arrangement is similar to the original; yet, meHiLove's remix feels fresh, given the exhilarating and funky deep house groove he contributes. To spice up the flavor a bit more, he has added a variety of soulful vocal samples.
Finally, Russian artist Katrin Souza rounds out the package with a deliciously deep and melodically unique rendering. Katrin chose to rework the original themes completely; all of the lead elements, as well as the background pads and side melodies, are new and quite lush, with only a hint of the great original theme in the main break.

We'd also like to acknowledge Soultech, NunRod7, Marcus Hakala, and Martin Peter, whose contributions deserve special recognition. Winning remixes are already available on our recent Silk Digital single.
Ontario native Nigel Good has emerged in recent years as one of the most beloved talents on Silk's roster. The emotive (often euphoric) melodies, electro-tinged grooves, and ethereal textures in his tracks have captivated house, progressive, and trance progressive fans alike, as well as captured the attention of many globally renowned international DJs, from Above & Beyond to Porter Robinson. Thanks to the generous support of the international community, he has reached the top of the charts on Beatport on various occasions in both the Progressive House and Trance genres this past year.
With tremendous enthusiasm, Silk Royal presents "Nothing Out Here", Nigel's debut artist album. Spanning a variety of genres, this 12-track release showcases the full range of Nigel's talents. The cinematic "This Is Us" is a fitting opener; a gorgeous piano solo heralds a lush lead melody, floating atop a meaty progressive house groove. The triplet groove of "Flight" is a fresh rhythmic offering, and the melody and strings in this one are equally moving. Nigel enters darker territory with "The Edge", the first of several orchestral pieces on the album. The subsequent cut, "Nothing Out Here", is vintage Nigel: piercing strings and rapturous chords, as well as a summer-flavored guitar hook, provide enormous uplift to the listener. The second "half" of this composition can be heard in the subsequent track, "Something Out There"; all of the feel-good energy reaches its zenith in this one.
At the album's midway point, we are met by the lead single, "One Minus Space", an ironic nod to his previous hit, "Space Minus One". As per usual, Nigel blends acoustic and symphonic instrumentation with synthesized lead chords; the result is one of his most memorable arrangements to date. His drum and bass experiment "Fourth Wall" and his second album interlude, "Cine", further illustrate the diversity of sounds on the album. Centering on an irresistible vocal hook by rising Swedish artist Johnny Norberg, "There For You Now" is the most likely candidate to remain in your head after the first listen. Arguably the album's climactic track, "Discover" features soaring chords, punctuated by heavenly vocal samples (an artist signature). Rounding out the album, "The Balance Part 2" is a very welcome sequel to one of Nigel's most successful singles with Silk. Finally, "This Is It" pays homage to his previous hit "This Is Us"; this gorgeous, string-themed classical piece also brings Nigel's exhilarating and deeply poignant album to its conclusion.

Shingo Nakamura recently presented his "Only Silk 02" compilation on our parent label, including various tracks of his own. One of the most exciting contributions was "Tribute", a collaboration with rising Russian talent Stendahl. We're thrilled to present this track as a full single, including a remix by global trance phenom Gal Abutbul and occasional collaborator Mimram. A Silk veteran and one of Shingo's friends, Kazusa, also provides a wonderful interpretation.
The Original Mix is an uplifting affair from the very start, centering on soothing pads, a mellifluous chord progression, and fluttering arpeggio lines. In the main break, Shingo delivers a soulful, deeply romantic piano instrumental. After a short breakbeat interlude, the main chords re-appear with tremendous emotional resonance.
Gal Abutbul and fellow Israeli talent Mimram have teamed up on an inspired, peak-hour remix. A thunderous groove sets the tone early, as well as a variety of swirling arp lines. In the main break, we are met with the gorgeous piano lines of the original mix, as well as sweeping strings and heavenly vox. Finally, the ethereal soundscape makes way for a roaring drop.
Kazusa's "floating-on-air" rendering rounds out the package. He truly captures the light-hearted essence of the original, as a variety of delicate, beachside melodies soar above a gentle groove.

Nigel Good's latest contribution to our imprint, "One Minus Space," is the ebullient first single from his forthcoming "Nothing Out Here" artist album. Already pegged as one of the release highlights of 2014 on Silk's calendar, Nigel's album features a diverse collection of melodies and grooves. Yet, "One Minus Space" offers a fair representation of the overall uplifting flavor that imbues the entire album.
Already receiving a great response on YouTube via an early "teaser" video, this euphonious new cut begins with only a suspenseful lead chord progression and a delicate piano riff. An energetic progressive house rhythm emerges at the quarter turn, which leads the listener into the main break. All of the melodic elements, including the emotive piano chords, reach their full crescendo at this juncture, and newly added string effects are equally climactic. In the latter half of the track, Nigel spices up the soundscape with his signature vox stabs.

Chicago-based duo Brash Flair (a.k.a. Kristin Johnston and Joshua Wentz) recently released its second EP of the year, appropriately entitled Two, via the Sidedown label. Pulled from the EP, the dynamic pair have passed along the sophisticatedly intricate cut "Your Line", a sonic mosaic embellished with stuttering synths and lusty percussion, all filtered through a gritty sheen of lo-fi texture. The tune is further accented by Johnston's satiny vocals which lightly percolate throughout the course of "Your Line".

Russian duo August Rush, who have not-too-quietly been making waves in the global progressive community, present their first contribution to our parent label, a two-track EP. The lead track, "Booster", is exceedingly lush and groovy, seemingly inspired by a poolside weekend day in mid-summer. The track kicks off with a light and deep groove, as an ethereal vocal pad slowly filters into the mix. By the quarter turn, a warm, richly melodic soundscape has emerged, including a variety of flirtatious vocal stabs. The song continues onward in a slow crescendo, inspiring the listener to get back out to the dancefloor. The B-side track, "Time To Recognize", is a more traditional deep house affair, with a laid-back bassline and a plethora of filtered vox effects. This romantic and sensual track is more suitable for the after-hours.

Harmonic Rush - Pass Over In Silence EP - Abora Chillout - 2013
Catalogue Number: ABCH009 Release Date: December 23, 2013 Genre: ambient
Emirati producer Milad Maleki has been all over the place in recent months with releases on Monster Tunes, Blue Soho, and Edge EDM. He’s become famous for his driving energetic trance full of rolling bass lines and glitches. Not so many people are aware of the fact that Milad is a very talented chillout and symphonic composer as well. Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you MilamDo in a way you have never heard before!
Presenting his new EP on Abora Chillout with typical Persian vibes, we have two tracks, each unique, each different, yet mesmerizing. The first one is an elusive "Pass Over in Silence". Close your eyes and let the ambient mood and glitched drum rolls take you to a place long lost. The other track on this release is "The Girl Next Door". Don't be fooled by its soft and eerie title; the track itself is as dusky as it gets! It includes chanting male vocal performance and deep Persian instruments sampled in a very innovative way. Milad again proves that he is one producer to watch out for in the future.
Danish star Schodt was responsible for our imprint's biggest release of 2013: his debut artist album, "Darkness | Light". A pair of favorites from that album have been given the remix treatment by two spectacular talents: veteran sensation Dan Stone and rising star AWD, both of whom hail from the UK.
AWD, whose recent work on Enhanced has been supported on radio by Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, and Chicane, contributes a euphoric interpretation of Schodt's "You're Brighter Than The Sun". The main vocal hook from the original mix offers a hypnotic start to the remix, as the percussion slowly builds behind it. Soon thereafter, we are met by a roaring bassline, punctuated by a delicate piano line. In the main break, the poignant piano riff is highlighted, followed by a rapturous layered trance lead, which carries the listener into the explosive drop.
Dan Stone is an especially exciting addition to our imprint's roster. A contributor to the mighty Anjunabeats imprint since 2006, Dan has been a fixture on the leading Trance & Progressive radio platforms for the past decade and continues to write inspiring and emotive music in that niche, as well as tour the world as an international DJ. His remix of Schodt's "Angel No. 8" is a mellifluous affair from the very beginning: vocal stabs soar above uplifting chords in the early going. The melodic layers continue to build, leading up to the main break. There, we are met by a powerful piano-centered chord progression, while ethereal pads fill out the soundscape. These elements join the lead themes from the original in the track's climactic moments, and then are fully unleashed in the jubilant drop.
