Republic Artists Records presents:

TECHNO + + + + ART + + + + VISUALS

For this special one-off show, we are flying Greece’s Nikola Gala and DJ Schwa (half of Czech-Australian formation Shades Of Gray) over to London. Scotland’s Michael L Penman, who is responsible for a number of hits on Ovum, Tronic and Richie Hawtin’s Minus12, will be also in attendance to supply the beats. Roland UK artist Nick Elia will add some acid and raw sounds to the mix with his DJ /live hybrid set up that incorporates the original TB303 and a new TR-8.

On support duties, we are happy to have Jaded residents and Superfreq regular guests Broken Neon (Malchevsky & The Little Dude) & Thomas Tesla.

Tomáš Vavříček - a well-respected multimedia artist from the Czech Republic, will provide the art installation and visuals.

The terrace is hosted by DJ Mag UK with massive line up featuring Detroit Swindle duo in an extended vinyl set, Seven Davis Jr. (live), Glenn Astro and many more

Part of the exciting wave of Greek talent, coming up in House and Techno over the last decade, Nikola Gala is a prolific producer whose impeccably produced tracks have become big releases for Ibadan Records, Rekids, Freerange Records and Plastic City; all labels which represent true quality in the world of underground dance music.

Lars Dales & Maarten Smeets have had quite a run the last few years. From making music for the hell of it, to making tens of thousands of fans all over the world happy with their releases, mixes and performances; It’s almost like they appeared out of thin air. With a string of releases on renowned labels like Dirt Crew, Freerange and Tsuba, they've sucker punched the house scene and waved around their 12” scepter to rule them all.

Michal Schwa from Prague, Czech Republic is the man behind Beef records and electronic duo Shades Of Gray. SOG debut album “Soul Machine” was included in top 50 albums of 2012 by Dj Mag and charted by many key players in the scene. Constant musical output on established labels including Audiomatique, Om records, Lost My Dog, Compost or own BEEF has gained support from the likes of Shur-i-Kan, Miguel Migs, Luna City Express, Miss Kittin, Jimpster, Pezzner, Laurent Garnier, Smash TV and The Timewriter.

Schottish, Michael L Penman is responsible for number of top releases on Ovum, Tronic and Richie Hawtin M-nus12. His music production has been supported by Huxley, Josh Wink, Adam Beyer, Gregor Tresher, Kenny Larkin, Dan Curtin, Anja Schneider, Nicole Moudaber, Yousef and many more. Michael had recently debuted at our very own Fabric for WYS party.

Currently residing in Essen, Glenn Astro has spent a bit more than half his life DJing and producing, first in the realm of hip-hop and more recently with an ear toward dance music. After his first releases in this style in 2011 and 2012, Glenn really went for it in 2013 with a trio of EPs that showed hip-hop's soul and house music's drive are in no way mutually exclusive. This 26-year-old may embrace the latter these days, but when you close your eyes and let his gritty low-end do its dirty work, you'll hear plenty of the former's bump still kicking around in there.

Roland UK artists & audio lecturer at SAE institute on the daylight, techno DJ, live performer and studio equipment geek at night. The solid foundation of electronic music creation came from his mentors, international producers Alan Fisher (Bjork, LFO) and Kevin Paul (Moby, Depeche Mode).Nick has spent many years working as a producer and sound engineer in studios around the UK and Germany.

2014 marked two unforgettable bank holiday shows for 2020Vision in London. In May we were treated to 6 hours of sun tinged debauchery on a glorious day at iCan Studios; and in August waved an emotional goodbye to Shoreditch Underground. With that venue going into the history books, a new story begins for 2020Vision this May at The Wick.

After their sold out show with 2020Vision in March Percolate will be hosting room two for the day's proceedings with artists from the Percolate Agency. Alongside residents Krywald & Farrer will be heralded classic house selector DJ Caspa, disco aficionados MermaidS, melodic techno future hero Kris Davis, and electronic upstart Bird of Paradise. The Percolate family will be doing what they do best, bringing a party crew together and keeping the vibe going right until the music stops!

On Saturday 13th June, we will be taking over the new underground venue, The Steelyard. To match this incredible space we have put together an incredible line-up!

Heading up the proceedings will be none other than Berlin's AGENT!, who has rocked floors across the globe, from Tresor, Tokyo's Womb, Cocoon Club Frankfurt to our very own Fabric. His Desolat release was featured on Fabric 62 mixed by DJ Sneak, and his remix for Anne Clark 'Work It' has been released on Moon Harbour - a collaboration with his buddies, Vito & Danito and Zokhi & Rooz Lee, which hit #3 in the Techhouse category of the Beatport charts. On top of that "Dopeman", his single on Cocoon Recordings has smashed all charts and clubs worldwide.

Aged 22, Jacob B represents the rise of young Polish producers who have quickly gained recognition from fellow DJs and producers worldwide. Expect Techno this side of Detroit, spiced up with a little bit of acid and garage bass, mixed in his own unique style. One of his latest tracks, 'Sruba', was played on BBC Radio One by Hannah Wants, and all three tracks from his last EP 'The Breslau Cuts', have been included in Amine Edge 'I’m House Gangster Miami Mix'. His productions have been supported by a diverse range of acts - such as Mark Farina, Saytek, Dale Howard, Citizen, Ben Mono, De Sluwe Vos, Manooz, JMF, Viadrina, Groove Armada or Tanzlife.

Arthur Keen, will be showcasing a more minimal and dark site of the genre in his LIVE set using various Korg and Roland Machines. The mixture of deep underground grooves from Techno, Electronica and Tech House with dark melodic blends will surely suit the later hours of the night. His last track 'The Door' released on Republic Artists Records has been supported and played by Laurent Garnier, Sacha, Betoko, Benoit, Technasia and Chris Fortier.

On support duties, we are happy to have Jaded residents and Superfreq regular guests Bro Ken Neon (Malchevsky & The Little Dude) back. Edvardas Rut (Jaded) b2b Banyn (WaveBreakers) and Thomas Tesla (Republic Artists) will also be in attendance to supply the beats.

This will also be the official after party for Republic Artists boat party.
(Full details to be revealed in coming weeks!)

Expect a full dance floor from the very early hours, some of the finest House & Techno around, along with an incredible atmosphere that will keep the club dancing ‘til dawn!

Slide’s first shindig of the summer sees a return to the terrace for the first time since 2011 of the legendary Greg Wilson, spinning for 3 hours, with support across the venue from Justin Robertson, Eskimo Twins and more.

Both DJ and producer, Greg Wilson was associated with the early 80’s electro scene in the UK. Two decades on, he found himself a dedicated global gathering as part of the emerging disco renaissance. Originally known for playing funk, soul, disco, and later jazz-funk records, in 1983 he was named North's top DJ, with his nights at Wigan Pier and Manchester's Legend voted the regions best by Blues & Soul readers. That year he became the first DJ to mix live on British TV, put together the first UK re-edit, and taught a young Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) how to scratch. In 1984 Wilson started producing tracks rather than playing them, debuting with 'UK Electro' for Street Sounds. In 1994 he re-visited his electro-funk past, compiling 'Classic Electro Mastercuts'. As well as being a DJ / producer, Wilson has also written articles for magazines including Wax Poetics, Clash and Grand Slam.

The term legend is often banded about far too easily, but in this case it is entirely accurate! Justin Robertson is a producer and DJ, who brings with him a rich history as one of the creators of the Electronic Music scene, as well as a restless need to push forward and innovate, making him one of the most relevant DJs around.

Slide regulars the Eskimo Twins warm things up for Justin in the club. Since meeting as students in Leeds, these two friends have shared their passion for music. The pair immersed themselves in the city’s clubbing and live music scenes and after discovering a mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid and a lingering teenage love of Metal; they began making music together.

Support across the venue comes from Dom Chung, residents Henry Greenwood, Lloyd Wakeman, Steve Robinson and more.
