On the 1st May 2013, Network Rail took possession of Cable, forcing us to close. Over the last week, we've been inundated with kind messages of support and truly humbled by your outpouring. Now, it's your chance to get your voice heard...

The crowd at Cable were always the key factor that made us what we are. It was you who helped make every night special. We want you to be part of Cable's legacy - the lasting union between raver and club.

We want your photos, videos and your comments to help us build an image of the experiences we've shared together over the years. It could be pictures of you with friends, your prized video of a DJ smashing Cables rig, or simply a comment about what Cable meant to you.

4 Years of Cable: We Fear Silence present Blueprint with James Ruskin, Ben Sims & More

Saturday 15th June 2013 / Cable, London / 22.00 - 06.00

Main Room: James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Function (Live), AnD, Samuel Kerridge

Room 2: Hosted By Colony

With three years of relentless techno, sub-sonic beats & bass and the finest in house behind our backs, Cable takes a step into its fourth year with a special weekend, curating the best in underground electronic music – supporting the labels we love, and bringing our most forward-thinking promoters directly into the spotlight.

With Butterz Records masterminding Friday, we’ve got James Ruskin’s revered Blueprint imprint to curate the Saturday soiree with an unrivalled selection of driving techno from around the world. Ben Sims, perhaps one of the most famed names in techno, pioneering for his approach on the art of the mix, and his tough funk, hardgroove infused sets – has always stayed a keen involver, ever reinventing himself through a maze of labels, none more successful than his very own brainchild, Theory. With shows that are powerful, memorable and completely unique, Sims crosses the boundaries of DJing, showcasing classic and upfront techno. And for one night only, he’ll be down at the tunnels, showing you his best.

Function may be a New York boy, but his heart is in the same game as Sims’. As an evolver and pioneer of techno in New York - a sound that often gets drowned by the rest of New York’s creative exports – he has 15 years’ experience working with some of the biggest labels in the game, last month releasing a full-length named, Incubation, via Berlin’s great Ostgut Ton. Having opted for a more cinematic paradigm than any of his previous work, Function’s special live show from room one will be a spectacle worth witnessing and it's already making waves across the globe.

James Ruskin, Blueprint’s pioneer, and the man in charge of bringing the label out of its hiatus, makes an appearance on the lineup, as does Downwards Records latest prodigy, Samuel Kerridge, a man who’s already made his debut at Berghain, and now comes to Cable to bring the best in leftfield and immersive techno selections. And AnD, the Manchester based techno outfit who storm clubs with their predatory basslines and sassy percussion, blaring their own air raid siren for Techno’s second rising.

With room two in the hands of Colony – London’s forward facing techno party – get ready for old sounds from new names and new sounds from old names, as they bring their own fine slice of techno history to Cable on the 15th.

After the unrivalled vibes of the last gathering at Cable, it seems only right Ketoloco return to the vaunted London club for their next party, which also happens to be one of their biggest yet with sets from Todd Terje, Audiojack, Droog, Mark Henning, Tapesh and more on Sunday May 26th.

If you were there last time out you will remember the sit-downs during Solomon’s set, the killer sound system, the full and colourful dancefloor and the fact it was all sold out weeks in advance. Well for this next session, all three rooms of Cable will be used so the 'Loco crew can fully stretch their wings. So too will they be bringing in their own custom built sound system to Relay with extra lighting rigs for added oomph… cos that’s how they roll. And so to the diverse line up that touches on many different shades of house, disco and tech from across the scene.

There are few artists who embody nu disco and edit culture as wholly as Norwegian Todd Terje. In recent years he’s grown to become a superstar in his own right with highly sought after, genre defining releases like The Arps, Ragysh and Inspector Norse coming on a range of seminal labels. Terje gets more out of his machines, makes brighter colours and more infectious grooves than any of his peers and as a DJ spans eras, epochs and genres with a learned skill.

Up next, Leeds’ finest makers of dancefloor dynamite, Audiojack, were the first ever act to play the original basements parties back in Headingly so are welcome guests for this event, and given ‘Loco’s championing of Diynamic artists over the years it no surprise this time out they have newbies Hunter/Game playing. Finishing off the main room line-up is deep-disco spinner Phil Dudman.

Meanwhile in the second room, Relay, inimitable slow and sexy house trio Droog headline and will no doubt champion the sorts of emotive sounds which have made their LA label Culprit the hot property it is in 2013. Also playing is Soma and Clink’s trusty tech house craftsmen Mark Henning – whose ‘Trojan’ tune has been an enduring Ketoloco anthem over the past year – as well as the Loco DJs themselves plus ToeJam main man, Adam Saville.

In the cosier Balcony Room, brightly emerging promotion Bad Apple take charge with their Bristol brethren Pardon My French, and together their residents play with Get Physical & Noir Music house don Tapesh leading the affray.

There are not many chances to catch such a comprehensive selection of house heads in London, especially somewhere as true to the underground as Cable, so you don’t want to be sleeping on this one....

We Fear Silence present Blueprint Records

Friday 5th April 2013 / Cable, London / 23.00 – 11:00

DJs: Ben Klock, Blawan, DVS1, James Ruskin

Room 2 Hosted by Colony

For our second Blueprint party of 2013 we welcome three of the biggest names currently in techno that will undoubtedly create one of the standout nights in London this year.

We Fear Silence presents Blueprint will move to a Friday night for the first time for an extended session on April 5th starting at 11pm and going all the way through to 11am.

First up we welcome Ben Klock back to Cable, known for his epic techno sets the Berghain resident has made an indelible mark on the scene playing sets full of deep, hypnotic and heavy grooves which is reflected in the aesthetics of his own Klockworks record label.

Next up is DVS1 aka Zak Khutoretsky, who continues to move floors with a combination of deep musical knowledge, unbridled enthusiasm and a vast record collection. Those who have witnessed Zak’s sets will know he brings his own inimitable style and intensity to the dancefloor.

Blueprint is also pleased to welcome Blawan for the first time, someone who has made great waves over the past two years with releases on the legendary R&S, Hessle Audio, Sheworks and Clone Basement Series. Having just released a crunching four tracker with Surgeon, Blawan will be treating us to his own take on techno and of course no Blueprint night would be complete without label boss and head honcho James Ruskin.

The third episode of Cable TV features Danny Rampling's legendary Shoom, which was celebrating it's 25th Anniversary at Cable over 2 massive nights on the 8th / 9th December.

We sat down with Danny to find out the beginning of the rave scene in the UK and how Shoom was largely responsible for bringing House music to the masses in the late 80's and early 90's.

We also grabbed a word with one of the founding fathers of Techno, the legend that is Derrick May, as well as Space resident Mat Playford. There are also some interesting insights from some of the original ravers to see how much they could actually remember of the "good ol' days" and of course we caught up with Security Chris to find out what's coming up.
