Tonight's the night! See you there peeps smile

This Saturday - can't wait!

http://www.nuestra-casa.co.uk/neil.jpg

After another amazing night in August, we are really excited to be heading to our spooky new venue The Shelter in Hoxton on Saturday 2nd November 2013 for a rather ghoulish Halloween Fancy Dress special. To mark the occasion we have drafted in a true legend of the electronic music scene - Neil Quigley - alongside the excellent up and coming Mancunian producer/DJ Loz Goddard.

So slap on your make up, hollow out some pumpkins and come down for a scary night out with us. And with The Shelter's late 5am licence there's no excuse for leaving the dancefloor early smile

--------------

NEIL QUIGLEY (REfINE)

Anyone who has followed Neil Quigley throughout his career knows that he has always been a purveyor of the finest deep and tech house. His early DJ mixes were so revered that when one fell into the hands of a certain John Digweed, the result was a residency alongside him at his world famous Bedrock parties.

Fast forward to present day, and Neil now brings his brand of ‘electronic house with soul’ to clubs and festivals all over the world, and directly to your iPod through his regular podcasts, not to mention a mix compilation for Renaissance, home of his other prestigious residency.

These days it’s not just Neil’s abilities behind the decks that make him so respected within the scene. From early collaborations with Nick Muir and Milton Jackson, to present solo efforts on labels such as Dessous, Plastic City and Shaboom, Neil’s growing reputation as a formidable producer has seen him work with artists such as Roykssop’s Erlend Øye and British pop star La Roux.

Now he has launched his label REfINE together with German tech house pioneers Terry Lee Brown Jnr and The Timewriter. For Neil, it's another platform to ensure his music will be with us for a long time to come.

--------------

LOZ GODDARD (Kolour Recordings/i Records/5 and Dime Recordings)

Manchester's Loz Goddard got off to an early start with music, learning to play the drums at the age of nine and the guitar shortly thereafter. Such an early lesson in the essentials of drum patterns and rhythm elements has led to a solid foundation in what Loz considers to be one of the most crucial components in his own production. Initially influenced by the more experimental sounds of IDM and Electronica, Loz found that electronic music production, both live and in the studio, was where his heart was set.

Over time his musical tastes and influences have evolved, as has his love of spaced out Deep House. The discovery of artists such as John Digweed, Robert Babicz, Mark Henning, Ian O’Donovan, Luna City Express, Evren Ulusoy, Huxley, Matthias Tanzmann, Delano Smith and Ekkohaus has taught Loz the fundamentals of House music production and enabled him to take inspiration from the many types of House out there today and develop his own synth infused and percussive style.

With releases on 5 and Dime Recordings, Deep Site Recordings, DeepWit and Oversized Records (and more to come) and gaining support from artists such as Evren Ulusoy, Sezer Uysal, Sumsuch, Alvaro Hylander, The Messenger, Nadja Lind, and The Disclosure Project has earned him great success in the 'Top 100 Deep House Releases' chart on Beatport, coming in at #34 with his Mimic EP on 5 and Dime. 2013 is set to be a big year for Loz Goddard and we’re sure that we’ll be seeing much more of him not only now, but also in the years to come.

--------------

Joining Neil and Loz on the decks will be our irrepressible Nuestra Casa residents in the form of the disco-progressive, neo-house dynamic duo BroKen DJs, and the bouncy, tech-funk partnership of Oliver James & Cosmique.

So if you fancy sampling some fantastic music and the usual friendly Nuestra Casa atmosphere then get your tickets now.

After East Village very sadly had its licence revoked, we were determined to not let it stop us from still having THE party of the summer. So with a brilliant new Funktion 1 filled venue Dukes, Nuestra Casa featuring the one and only purveyor of deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse - Danny Howells - is well and truly on!

Danny is one of the few DJs around with a record collection diverse enough to do an extended set justice, and we simply can't wait to unleash him on the Nuestra Casa dancefloor. Grab your tickets now, as this one is set to be a roadblock.

DANNY HOWELLS (4 HOUR SET) (Dig Deeper)

Danny Howells is one of the few DJs on the scene today that truly has a style of his own. With his passion for all styles of music and infectious personality, Danny has created a unique, eclectic sound that has established him as one of the most in demand DJs in the world. Danny is one of the hardest working and most dedicated individuals in the business with over 19 years experience and a hectic touring schedule that constantly takes him around the world. He's played in the world's coolest clubs and held residencies at places such as Arc, Ministry of Sound, Twilo, Renaissance, The End, and Bedrock, as well as his own Dig Deeper nights worldwide.

With a back catalogue of well received mix albums under his belt, his most recent compilation was his contribution to Renaissance's legendary Mix Collection series, released in September 2008. Previously, Danny has compiled acclaimed mixes for Global Underground, being the only DJ to contribute to not only the main series with his Miami album, but also the 24:7 and Nu-Breed Series. In addition to this, he also compiled a CD for Azuli's Choice series, as well as three volumes of his own Nocturnal Frequencies series. His mixes have also made waves on the world famous Essential Mix, where his fourth mix aired in early 2007. It's not just as a DJ where Danny has made a name for himself, he's also an accomplished producer and remixer. With Dick Trevor, he has been responsible for many stand out tracks, including the timeless 'Persuasion/Repercussion' on Bedrock Records, 'Breathe' on Renaissance Records and 'Kinkyfunk' on Yoshitoshi Records. They also hit the charts in 2004 with their Miami hit 'Dusk till Dawn', which was released on Cr2 Records and featured the vocals of Erire.

More recently, Danny has been focusing on original productions for his own Dig Deeper label, the likes of which have been licensed to mix albums by artists such as Juan Maclean on his DJ Kicks album, and Cassy for her recent compilation on Cocoon. On the remix front Danny has previously mixed records such as Roachford's 'Ride The Storm', Madonna's hit single 'Get Together', and Marco Bailey's 'Smooth Drive'. Other artists that have received the remix treatment include Bent, We Deliver, Stryke, International Observer, Robbie Williams, David Morales, BT, Chakra, Ashtrax, Coco and Stonebridge and Felix Da Housecat.

Danny has come a long way since his early beginnings DJing at Bedrock in his hometown of Hastings, though his complete love of all music remains the same. Danny is a DJ with a broad musical taste who likes anything from jazz to rock, to pop and anything a bit bizarre. He likes to champion his own special tracks and records that nobody else has latched on to and has a way of combining cutting edge grooves with crowd pleasing dynamics that enable him to connect with his audience making him one of the hottest DJs in the world.

The Babicz Essential Mix is quite simply a classic!

http://www.nuestra-casa.co.uk/relay_board.jpg

On Saturday 16th February 2013 Nuestra Casa makes an explosive return to the London club scene with a jaw dropping DJ lineup at our amazing new venue Relay. Relay is the sister venue for Cable, created out of the space that was previously Cable's mysterious 3rd room, and it simply has to be seen to be believed.

Entertaining us on the night will be a pair of true trendsetters of electronic music: Robert Babicz (Live) and Tom Middleton: Sound of the Cosmos.

-----------------------------

ROBERT BABICZ (Live) (Babiczstyle/Systematic)

Robert Babicz's musical output is inspiring and staggering. A true one-man operation, he writes, records and performs solo; commanding an ever-expanding touring schedule, tailoring the music he creates to the cities he visits. Straight out of Cologne in 1993, under the pseudonym Rob Acid, Babicz released his first single Happy Answer on London Records, which unexpectedly became a huge club hit. With the rise of acid house influenced records dominating the charts, Babicz was able to ride high on this new wave of club culture. In addition to becoming an in demand live performer using one of his other names, Acid Warrior, Babicz started to release singles on high profile imprints like Kompakt, Treibstoff and Steve Bug's Audiomatique, as well as his own label, Junkfood.

By the turn of the new millennium, Babicz was striving for a different sound and thus began a new label, Shortcut. At the same time, he received multiple requests for sound design from hard and software producers, most notably resulting in the presets he produced for Native Instruments. In 2007 Robert released his landmark record, A Cheerful Temper on Systematic Recordings, which expertly moves between electronica, techno, minimal and classic house.

Playing 'live' has always been a key feature of Babicz's authentic musicianship; improvising instead of reeling off pre-determined sets has made his celebrated shows unquestionably unique events. He consistently delivers astonishing performances of his own productions built around warm melodies, blissed atmospherics & analogue bass – sometimes jacking, but mostly tripping and always dancefloor orientated.

"Few producers have reached a level of international respect that Cologne's Robert Babicz has over the years" - Data Transmission

"A lush, almost somnambulic tapestry...a complete and thoroughly well realised piece of electronic music" - i-DJ Magazine on 'Immortal Changes'

-----------------------------

TOM MIDDLETON: Sound of the Cosmos (Cosmos/Global Communication)

After Tom's breathtaking set at our recent boat party, we thought it would be down right rude not to invite him back to tear the roof off Nuestra Casa once again. To the untrained eye Tom is just another DJ. Beard, box of records, bounces behind the decks. You've seen one, you've seen them all, right? Wrong. You see Tom isn't just a DJ. He's a scientist; a meticulous technician with a thirst for all musical forms from breakbeat to baroque.

Researching each and every project with eagle eyed glee, Tom approaches every venture, from productions to DJ mixes, with the attention to detail that's usually reserved for the likes of architects, surgeons and engineers. His mix CDs such as 'The Sound Of The Cosmos', '3D' and 'The Trip 2' show true precision and forethought with Tom spending hours of preparation studying the key of each track and how they relate to each other.

Many believe he was born with these razor sharp skills. Classically trained in piano and cello Tom understood music's essential rudiments and theory long before he could grow those iconic whiskers on his chin. It's this adept understanding of the true technicalities of music – how it works, how arrangements compliment each other and how you can convey the strongest message – that's helped him carve a unique career that's spanned from his deep space delights with Mark Pritchard as Global Communication and Jedi Knights to last year's breathtaking debut album 'Life Tracks', a homage to the ambient and soundtrack music. To this day he refuses to sample other people's music, preferring instead to create his own sounds using virtual orchestra and band software he’s programmed himself.

He's flirted with chart success with the 2002 club smash 'Take Me With You', hosted his own show on Kiss FM, been resident at Ibiza's most super of superclubs Manumission and tutored the winning DJ Ryan Shaw in ITV's cult DJ challenge The Joy Of Decks. As a DJ he's performed in almost every corner of the globe to crowds as large as 150,000. With his trademark widescreen musical repertoire, he's spent years championing styles long before they were the norm, helping Ulrich Schnauss develop his career and hosting Hot Chip and Mylo's festival debut appearances.

More recently Tom's seen major airplay action with 'Remember The Love' – his homage to the roots of house music – Forge on Digweed's seminal Bedrock imprint, Orange Light's 'A Few Good Days' and The Golden Girls' stone-cold classic 'Kinetic'.
