Topic: "You bring light in" - Dancing in the rain at DC10

Well, you cant get a better Ibizan moment then dancing in the rain as the John Ciafone mix of Two Months Off is blasting out of the speakers.

Fantastic! Legendary! Top quality all round. The troops are back in blighty after a whistlestop tour of the white isle to catch the We Love closing at Space a quick trip to Pacha and finally the legend that is DC10.

Arrived on Saturday night and after a few drinks at the Base Bar in Ibiza Town it was a brisk walk across to Pacha for the Def Mix closing for a bit of Morales and Knuckles for so real House music. Not the busiest I've seen Pacha but enough people having a good time dancing and enjoying probably one of the best vibes I've seen at Pacha. The virgin amongst our party had a big smile on his place as he was given the guided tour of the place.

Sunday, and its over to Playa den Bossa for Space. Again the face of the virgin was truely a picture as he walked on the Terrace for the first time as Smokin Jo was funkin up the crowd. Jon Ulysis kept the vibe just right and set it up nicely for Steve Lawler. Unfortunatly his first hour was shocking. The vibe that was set was lost and it took him an hour to put that right. Probably the worst Terrace set I have seen Steve play. The 2nd hour made up for it slightly, but the virgin's smile had slipped some what.

Now, those who were at Fabric for Laurant Garnier the other week now how good that night was, I would have like just half of that performance to be happy and I certainly wasnt let down. Actually finished on the terrace at about 1am!!

Inside you had the 8hr soundclash of Layo and Buswhacka Vs Tyrant. Qaulity, Quality, Quality! Didnt stay to the end as most of the crew, me included, had left with weary legs. Saving ourselves for the morning.

DC10 the stuff of legends. I was the only one of our group who had ever visited the place before so the guys entered in trepidation. They left several hours later astounded how amazing the place is. Rocky (XPress II) and Clive Henry b2b was magical. The rain which interrupted the Terrace proceedings on two or three occassions didnt affect the electric atmosphere in the place.

This is the true side of Ibiza. Its still untouched from the commercialised side of Ibiza and long may it continue.

Yesterday we all had a quiet relaxing day in Ibiza Town taking in the sights and the general good vibe about the place. A fantastic little trip with a fantastic group of people. A trip that will last in the memory for a long long time.

Sounds good.

Really wanted to make it for the closing parties of Space and DC10 but just couldn't find enough money.

Hopefully DC10 will be the same next year. Its becoming more and more well known to the masses but hopefully that won't ruin the authenticity of the place...it really is special.  big_smile

Dan, did you get to meet Tamora ??

glad to hear you all had a wicked time

A day without blood is like a day without sunshine.

Re: "You bring light in" - Dancing in the rain at DC10

Rene: I think that DC10 will still have that feel for at least another year or so. Ibiza is having a bit of a stocktake at the moment and the smaller venues are taking over the cooler crowd. You now have places like Pin-Up in Playa den Bossa opening up. All these places are attracting quality DJ's and keeping the original vibe alive. Next year will be a great year.

Steve: Didnt see Tamora. Must have raised enough cash to make it home. wink

Really?
I'd prefer to be sipping a beer, dancing in the sun, in all honesty.

But Matt, you can get that all the time in Ibiza. What with at least 300 days of sunshine every year. wink

I never made it to DC10 on my trip to Ibiza in July.... it would have been great to see the place. I was too tired after Sundays at Space... i guess im just not as hardcore as some!!!  tongue
