Re: The General Footy Thread

Found it.... great gag in fairness. lol. Not sure how Roy got to thinking any of the England squad would have a scooby what he was on about though.

The supposed joke is one that was popular at American space agency Nasa.

“Nasa decided they’d finally send a man up in a capsule after sending only monkeys in the earlier missions,” the joke goes.

“They fire the man and the monkey into space. The intercom crackles, 'Monkey, fire the retros’. A little later, 'Monkey, check the solid fuel supply’.

“Later still, 'Monkey, check the life support systems for the man’. The astronaut takes umbrage and radios Nasa, 'When do I get to do something?’

“Nasa replies, 'In 15 minutes – feed the monkey’.”

What is the world coming to if you cannot call a black bloke a monkey anymore?

Can't help but think Peter Herbert is just doing it raise his own profile. Nobody else actually gives a shit.

<impressed whistle> Expected an absolute mauling from the dippers today - pleasantly surprised - Is phase 2 of the textbook scouser season underway already then?

Re: The General Footy Thread

What the fuck are you on about Shaun? We conceded two unlikely goals. Especially Cabaye's, forty-nine times out of fifty a shot like that would have fizzed outside the post or into row Z. The second one, Dummett had two markers but got lucky with his touch and his angle. We created plenty of chances and created havoc in their box at set plays. We weren't great but would have deserved the three points.

This is you...

We're still not strong enough to finish teams off, need another two Coutinhos, and Stevie is ready for the scrap heap next season.

This is true, but the suggestion that Rodgers was 'playing for a draw' suggests something utterly negative.

Unless Spackwick means 'playing for a draw' in the sense that we had to come from behind twice. Yeah, okay, playing for a draw then.

Well, before they played West Ham, I would have said yes, Spurs. West Brom? Does dismantling Napoli count?

Didn't see the game, it was just a general comment.

'Spackwick' doesn't scan properly, but very good all the same. Lol etc.

If that goal Wilshere scored yesterday doesn't end up as GOTS then I'm Andros Townsend's uncle.

Some great goals from Arsenal on Saturday.

Liked Ramsey's too.
