Zackster, what affinity exactly do you have with this board? It definitely isn't the music.

my parents were divorced when i was just a boy. this left me searching for a sense of togetherness... i finally found that with you guys. :-)

Fair enough, obviously the trauma tilted your music affections.

Part of the problem

Picked that up last night Damo. Fantastic track!

Competence is such an exotic bird in these woods that I appreciate it whenever I see it.

It's certainly not their best.  It's not terrible either.

Id agree with loopy here.

Question? - Has any band that has being going for 30 odd years ever made a contemporary album thats their BEST work?

*deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath*  "One game at a time lads" - Strudders (Mar,Apr,May 2014)

the 'Best' album is usually one of the early ones, after album 3 they've either, sold out, started doing never ending Greatest Hits/Farewell tours and trot out the same old pony or they've got an industrial sized gak problem

Re: What are you listening to at the moment?

Well here's what happened to me, Damo. I put on me Grundigs and listened to the original. And a funny thing happened. As I looked across the living room at my missus. I didn't think of what did she spend my money on today, or when am I finally going to get my brown wings. As she was scanning her iPad for shoes and knickers on Rakuten, I do believe there was a twinkle in her eye. And I thought, maybe my life isn't that bad after all.

I'll probably listen to it again when I've finished listening to Holden's RA, to stop me from killing myself.

Oh, and what ever happened to that intro track you started one of your mixes with last year?

Good luck with the release btw.

Keep it FLAC. Say NO to variable bit rates.

Re: What are you listening to at the moment?

Reminds me of The Fear.

Re: What are you listening to at the moment?

...Grundigs = pants, right?

Think you're on about this one...

Cool set of tunes mate, liking the original and Rose Tinted remix.. good luck with the release

Re: What are you listening to at the moment?

...cheers Erik, yeah the first couple of minutes of that mix are excellent, lush pad sounds.
Not crazy about the direction it goes in after the bass comes in though

Some might argue you're wrong when it comes to the Rolling Stones.  Emotional Rescue was well into their career.  It can be done, but grows increasingly less likely due to people expecting things to have the revolutionary sound that they once did.  Duran Duran is another band that's done it once or twice (if you like them mind you).
