Topic: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

Not all brilliant but jesus h christ there are some great moments.

The tribal tech prog wrecking ball is well and truly out.

Re: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

Get on Victor Calderones E=VC2 for more tribal goodness.

Re: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

1st half of CD1 is brilliant... absolutely epic
Next Evidence –     Sands Of Time     7:28
Men From The Nile –     Watch Them Come     6:17
Return, The –     New Day     4:40
Ananda Project, The –     Cascades Of Colour (Danny Tenaglia's Edit Of The Saffron Mix)     6:21
Katcha –     Touched By God (Peace Division Remix)
Then it all starts to go tits up reaching a nadir with Saudade, absolute shit track, horrible at the time, sounds even worse now.

CD2 is indeed the tribal wrecking ball.

Athens and Back to Basics are classic comps as well, in fact he's not made a bad comp considering he's an absolute blert.

Re: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

The back 2 basics one you mention Dave is superb.

He knocked out a ropey comp for Renaissance about 3 years ago, gave it one listen and binned it.

Probably too hasty but I wanted pendulum swinging council estate levelling tribal heavers, rather than the bland minimal tech that he was serving up.

Re: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

Futurisms (i think it was called) was utter parp.

London and Athens were both good but not great.

Needed more white horses on the dancefloor imo.

Re: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

Futurism was alright.

OH MY GOD! IT'S THE DTEN4000!

Worst comp I've ever heard that one - absolute shite.

Awful control   Broken physics   Horrific AI   Weak voice work   Poor textures.

And that's just Wally on the pull.

Re: Danny Tengalia GU17 London

Must admit to never listening to any of the James Lavelle GUs, always filed him in the same bin as Damian Lazarus, a bloke in the right place at the right time. Plus too many tattoos.

Plus dj'd in a hat, always a BF no-no.

So did Danny Howells, so it wasnt the hat that was at fault, just that Lavelle was a shit DJ

RE: Lazarus

I think you'll find running one of the best labels helps, but you wouldn't have know that...

Only a tryhard clown like yourself would think Lazarus is a great dj cos he runs A tryhard label like Crosstown Rebels.
Has he done any decent CDs I should be listening to? Don't think so.
Nor have I ever heard anybody say 'saw Damo Lazarus last night and he blew my socks off'

Hence he is bobbins.
