Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

So what exactly?

Part of the problem

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

I gave Loopy the benefit of the doubt and was playing it loud for full effect until the missus asked me to "turn down that heinous shit" from the hall.

I liked it. Harks back to a time when guys used to get straight into it, not fucking around with two minutes of flippy flappy drumbeats for DJs to loop like nowadays. Big sounds and energy right from the outset. Bonzer.

Yeah i agree, it was from a different era, but productionwise its pretty faultless, the drums sound nice and tight and everything sounds clean and smooth, it probably doesnt fit in with whats around now but it sounds a damn sight better than a lot of stuff Diggers plays these days, just Imo of course

A good track, bit fast for today's foot shuffling masses, but a def solid tune

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

I thought that type of prog was shite in 2001 and I still think I made the right decision hating it.

Very true with the production comments on this however.

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

Prog was washed up by 99. Every cunt and his dog making generic 'prog by numbers'.

G'wan Loopers, don't hold back and big up your bad self...

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

Loops,  as ever, the very pinnacle of self restraint  here.  Bravo.

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

Jay has posted up above this thread... I'd say it's fucking killing him not to type his life story in here. lmao.

He's probably editing it in Word before a cut & past of 20,000 words in the post reply window.

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

I watched him avoid it earlier. With ADD thats some feat. He's probably licking the carpet after taking a triple dose of his meds.

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

There is a fair auld story behind the tune on the soundcloud link.

Oh he's gifted alright, I bet he gets his underpants from K-mart in Cincinnati. I'm willing to put a monkey on him self harming right now.

You might be able to rattle off a few authors but your taste in music circa 2001 is shite.

Re: Loopy actually used to make some good tunes

Yeah, it's not too bad I s'pose. I feel like it could maybe be updated and made really good.

See one thing, Dermot, about the early 2000s when you had a lot of bedroom producers and dodgy prog-by-numbers releases, i personally thought that was one of the most interesting eras i've known because there was a lot of good shit getting made as well, a feeling that it was accessible to everyone which was very positive imo. that was probably my favourite era even though i would probably not contend with the central thrust of your argument.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Based on what? My appreciation of Loopy's tune? I've forgotten more about good music than you will ever know.

One more thing...

I was genuinely interested in your stats. Sorry if I seemed obtuse.
