Topic: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

Competence is such an exotic bird in these woods that I appreciate it whenever I see it.

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

Brilliant vid. He's a fucking legend, indeed. Could lose the chin wig though...

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

Love him. What a fucking proper ledge.

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

Have only seen him Dj 3 times.

But he's been absolutely superb on each of those occasions.

He's producing nice lino-sections.

A proper pioneer, indeed.

When you listen to someone like him and then recalling what other dj's have to say it just brings it home what absolute fuckpots 98% of them are.

I bought the Asphodells album a while ago, but clearly not given it the time it deserves.

Cheers Dermo.

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

As the Sasha/Diggers scene gets more and more unlikable/predictable its a good direction to take. If im honest I look what people like Avery, Weatherall and friends are playing nowadays rather than the aforementioned.
The vocals he was going on about that he gets gyp for are on this too.

Quality vid.

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

Pretty sure it was me introduced you to the delights of Mr Avery Derm.

Glad you're enjoying what he does, it's all boss.

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

Not entirely accurate but the fabric CD defo made me listen to more of him.

Seemed a bit out of breath the old fella. Needs to cut down to the tabs. Absolute ledge though....amazes me he can mention oakenfold without pissing himself laughing. Talk about tangents.

Any particular reason?

Eh?

They all started from a fairly similar place many years ago - albeit that they arrived there via very different routes - for a brief while they all boshed out some fairly similar stuff and then the scene started blowing up and they started out on their own directions.  These days, 20+ years on, their current musical directions may seem to have nothing in common but why the fuck should he piss himself at the mention of Paul Oakenfold?

There was a fucking brilliant interview with him last year - over an hour long from memory - pretty sure it was posted on the DJH board but I've just had a quick scan and couldn't see it.  Bloke did some of my absolute favourite remixes of the early 90s - and he's still boshing the fuck out of it - much respect...

Re: A small peak inside the mind of a legend

great interview, thanks smile

One of my favourite from him

I was fully expecting this thread to be about Rupert Smallman.
