Topic: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

If anyone hears when this boss record is due for release please post it here... No mention of it by usual search methods (as far as I can tell)

Ta in advance

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

February.

It's not even that good, IMO of course, but to me it sounds like bog standard Matthew Dekay-record from 2003.

Tut Tut Hannu.

Tut Tut.

Competence is such an exotic bird in these woods that I appreciate it whenever I see it.

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

I'm with Hannu - pretty boring.

I love Dixon and Gerber but IMO this tune is gash.

What?!
The matter is, of course, subjective but I think you'll find that you are wrong!
In spite of this outrageous comment I still like your 2013 mix!
Thanks for info on release date fella.

Like....?

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

Its no Timing is it.

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

Average track.

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

Wonder how much of a hand Dixon actually had in this track, because all I hear is the hallmark Gerber sound.

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

Good track with a fair bit of hype..

some vague similarities, but more laid backfor me;

There's something wrong with me chemically Something wrong with me inherently,The wrong MIX In the wrong genes, I reached the wrong ends By the wrong means, It was the wrong plan In the wrong hands,The wrong theory for the wrong man,The wrong eyes On the wrong prize,
The wrong questions with the wrong replies. Wrong.

Can't quite see the similarities but that's a decent track nonetheless, some lovely percussion in it.

I like the plinky haunting melody in No Distance........quite trancey, prob why I like it

Keep it FLAC. Say NO to variable bit rates.

My word.  Thank Jesus for that... I hope it does arrive soon.  Thought I was gonna be waiting til April for that to finally get released.  To my ears that was the best record I heard in 2013 but it couldn't be used in a top ten cos no fucking release... Think seanc80 hit the nail on the head with the sentiment that it needs a release soon before you get pissed off at not being able to play it due to release delay!

Why did you delete the bit about Homegrove's balls slapping against a melon?

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

Chuffer, that's no way to speak about our glorious bald cue-ball nuggen leader. You naughty scamp.

Hodgy, it sounds from that preview of Ekipur that Dixon has his own edit with a more anthemic build up. Doubt that one will see the light of day?

Talking of anthemic breakdowns, it reminds me of the time when Strudders would play the odd afterparty. And take two copies of Lizard along. Stood in the corner of someone's living room, a set of belt-drive Kams at his disposal he would set about looping the breakdown over and over. Head back, eyes rolling, punching the air etc. To a very soon to be empty living room. Oh, those were the days.

Keep it FLAC. Say NO to variable bit rates.

That was 2012 wasn't it? Preferred the Dave DK Vocal mix myself, but amazing tune.

Agreed, he is so consistent too.

Just thinking about his mixes over the last 2 years and some belters.

Fuck hadn't played the clip through until you mentioned that... Just assumed the track in question would be the one Dixon used in his emix.  This is a right old kick in the knackers... And you're probably right re: dixon edit (or whoever it was) seeing the light of day....but maybe we're being pessimistic though, maybe IV will release it in 2016...

Re: Guy Gerber & Dixon "No Distance"

I bet it will be a b side on the release.
