Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

For the past twenty weeks, twice a week I have attended a program to learn and understand how to handle volatile situations like the one I was involved in. I have now completed this program. I condemn the use of force of any kind regardless of gender. I made a mistake and I will forever regret it deeply, I have taken every step necessary to ensure it will never happen again.

Fair play.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Amazing that he's coming back into the game 3 months after the outing.

Would love to be a fly on the wall when he gets that first pickup for his next gig ...

Promoter: "so great to have you play for us man ... really, after all that fucked up shit that happened ... seriously stoked to have you here"

Betoko: "thanks, it's been a really tough period for me"

Promoter: "yea bro, I bet ... you've shown real character to come through it"

Betoko: "it's these tests of character that really make a man"

Promoter: "massive respect for you coming through that"

Promoter's Girlfriend:  "what happened?"

Betoko:  "there was a violent incident involving my manager - it's all behind me now"

Promoter's Girlfriend:  "wow you poor thing"

*awkward silence for rest of journey to the 3 star hotel *

I won't be happy till Betoko is washing up dishes in Wahaca to earn his crust.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Would it not be best to just ignore this guy? The more publicity he gets the more his profile is raised ( and yes I can see the irony posting this )

When I play......no dog barks!!!!

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

My profile has risen recently tbf.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Los Residentes featuring Betoko & Chus Description
Four years ago, Betoko came to Beijing to open the Migas Terrace with a bang. Now, with much more recognition and a number of hits under his belt, he returns, bringing the added fire-power of Barcelona legend Chus with him to ensure the dance floor will get wild.

They might want to amend that write up.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Already messaged them by the way.

As he's been convicted of a violent assault I am VERY surprised he's been granted a visa.

I thought he wouldn't be able to get a visa with a criminal record

Beats Everything ?

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Beatoko.

Surely.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Disregarding the fact he's a bully and a coward, his music is poorly made, formulaic tosh. A perfect example of quantity over quality.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

i just dont get it!

how come promoters still book this piece of shit is beyond believe!
he better get some body guards otherwise he will defo get some!

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

Either people don't know the full story or are willing to give him a chance?

I've known similar circumstances where inappropriate (although not wife beating) behaviour was tolerated and the guilty party was stuck by friends. Not everybody is going to have the same standpoint as the victim or the victims supporters.

He'll probably just be on a tourist visa, which doesnt require a criminal background check as far as I recall.

Re: So Betoko is a bit of a nob, eh?

It only takes to send an e mail to the Chinese embassy in London to let them know there is a convicted criminal planning to go and work in their country. ;-)

He'll be working - so won't be a tourist visa. Instant deportation if caught working on a tourist visa.

Slight tangent - DJ Hyper got busted years ago in HK with the wrong visa.

If you give a flying fuck about somebody you don't know doing a gig in China just cos he gave his bird a slap,  you need to get out more.
