If I had a dollar for every time someone said, "If I had a nickel for every time someone said..." well, I guess I'd talk in
cliches a lot more.

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

i used to have a gemini 626 pro2 which is very nice and really good quality... can't remember how much they are but prolly in your price range...

3 channels and nice EQs with decent cuts.  built really well too.

i now have a stanton RM3s which i think is a bit dearer but really no better (and since its currently away getting fixed i'm not terribly happy with it)

i also recommend staying away from citronic... borrowing an MSX1 at the moment and its not really up the the same level as the gemini.

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

If you are thinking about dj-ing for more than bedroom dj-ing...and u want 2 become a dj.  Id get the DJM600.

Dont waste time with the 500...Its a nice user freindly mixer which is easy to use, nor a toy.  It has lovely knobs and faders.  The 500 has faults: u cant change the volume of the effect (eg, flange)...so this means the effect is either off or on.  You don notice it 2 much with the flange...but when it comes to echo and delay...its a waste of time.

DJM 600 is a bad boy mixer, awesome!  Split cue aswell!!! which teh 500 doesnt

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

if you can tell me where to find a DJM600 for 150 squids i will have your babies
<i></i>

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

Gotta agree this mixer is the dogs nads. The house mate that moved out has it.

It's a pleasure to mix with, although the 600 squid price tag is outa my league at the moment.

Cheers for ripping me...

I wasnt saying if you want 2 become a DJ u have 2 get the DJm600.

I was just stating, that i would only buy it if your 100% certain that you like DJ-ing and you will be using it in 5 years time.

The DJM600 is not a fad.  Its for the serious...thats what i was trying 2 put across.

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

Im looking to take the jump soon, tired of having a pile of vinyl and nothing to play em on...

But what are your opinions on the vestax mixers, either PCV-175 or 275 ??
<i></i>

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

The Gemini PS626 is a great budget mixer, and even includes PFL metering, and headphone crossfader. Numark have also recently introduced some good budget mixers, can't remenber what the model is called, but it's the newish curvey shiny grey one.

Re: Anyone reccomend a mixer...?

If ud spare a few extra pounds on top of your budget you could go for the Numark Matrix2. Maybe it is a 2 channel mixer + mic but it features everything the 626 has to offer as well as better sound quality and built. Also its far more ergonomical and on top of that, it would really look nice on top of your desk tongue GO 4 IT !
