Re: Best musical years for DJs?

Desyn Masiello 2003-2005 was spot on.

The dubby tech house Burridge & Richards were playing from 2000-2002 when everyone was on the prog tribal bandwagon.

You have me confused with Dermo.

Parks and Wilson around 2001/2002 were excellent - are they still around?

Agree with Digweed on 2001-2003 - still love MMII. But thought he lost his way for a few years after that - he was all over the place in fact. Got it back together when he release the Transitions series.

Personally I think he's better than ever now.

Re: Best musical years for DJs?

2005 wasn't a good year for anyone.

Re: Best musical years for DJs?

Shifting from prog to techhouse/minimal didn't really do Diggers any favours imo, at that time... circa 2005 i think it was.

Now he's a champ. Beasting all sorts of shit that you can't really pigeon hole.

Personally I can pin my 'hot-streak' down to a fortnight or so in mid April 2003.

Utter toilet before then and frankly not a whole lot better since.

Ten fucking years ago eh?  Tempus fuckit and all that.

Carry on...

Weatherall released his Fabric mix and, IIRC, Optimo released Psyche Out. Just because prog was awful doesn't mean everything was in the tank.

The dubby tech house Terry Francis was playing when Burridge and Richards were scratching around in the backrooms of pubs.

Sasha was bang on it from 1993 right up till about 2005, then he lost it, I blame Ableton
