Topic: Disclosure - Settle

Is it true what the hipsters are saying - better than the new Daft Punk album? That's not setting the bar very high is it?

Re: Disclosure - Settle

You also have to announce on Facebook that is is better than the Daft Punk album.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Just gave it a listen and it's a good album. But I mean, fuck haha, we've been listening to this shit for over a decade now - hardly groundbreaking. You'll find all this in the early Fabrics, H-Foundation etc.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

It just sounds like late 90's speed garage to me, nothing new here

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Bought it the other day. Agree its speed garage with updated plugins. Good fun to do the swiffering to.....

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Rudamental's album is good as well.

Saw them on Friday as they were on the bill for The Stone Roses.

Excellent live.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Anyone else want to suggest some fucking terrible music?  Katy B's new album?

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Its heavily influenced by it, but I wouldn’t say it was exactly the same at all

There are a lot of tracks on there which sound very similar to that sound, theres even a 2-step track on there

Cheers for the heads up. I'll steer well clear of that one.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

That song with Dr Doolittle or whatever the fuck is truly awful. This whole album is just a heap of generic turd made by two hipster cunts who openly admit they don't even particularly like dance music. It's just cynical mass-market crap for idiots.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

The songs are great, its some of the catchiest contemporary pop I've heard in a while. Yes it draws on garage and deep house, but so fucking what, its decent pop and more interesting than most of the other tripe on the wireless. They're rather good live too, oh and Jessie Ware is brilliant. Boiling with Sinead Hart is one of the nicest tracks I've heard in years.

Definitely there Nick, look forward to it smile

They were good at the Red Bull Music Academy gig in Great Southwark St warehouse a few months back

Not enough drops for them, so it won`t likely even chart.

Her album is possibly my most favourite album from last year.  Excellent album.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Jessie Ware lives about 800 yards from me.

Tru fax and a mahoosive KLANG to boot.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Does she think you are a little prick too?
