Im just thankful that these chaps are knocking out well produced, accessible London house music as opposed to the ketashit that has been coming out of idiots bedrooms for the past god knows how long, compared to that its like a breath of fresh air

I'm really loving a lot of that sound.  Dusky is another younger duo that I think are worth watching.  There seems to be a lot of younger producers that have risen up from the London bass scenes making this sound that keeps things fresh, but also hints at days gone by.  Funnily enough, I was never a big fan of UK garage/speed garage/2 step other than the odd bit like MJ Cole's 'Sincere'.

You can't put Dusky in the same bracket as these 'fad' merchants

Would have to agree, Dusky are nothing like Disclosure, apart from they both begin with D

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Doughnut begins with D.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

To be fair to Loopy, Sincere is a reet tune.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Am I going to piss off anyone if I say they're sorta like Maya Jane Cole?

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Re: Disclosure - Settle

Come on all that female vocal driven house music, with the hipster hooks. I was reminded of mjc.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

...you should bone up on your 'female vocal driven house music' then, coz that's a shit-awful comparison

and WTF is a 'hipster hook'?

Re: Disclosure - Settle

If a person likes MJC, i'd probably recommend Disclosure. And vice versa.

Re: Disclosure - Settle

You didn't need any help discrediting your musical credentials rhouses but you've done good.

Isn't a fad merchant  someone who specialises in tarmac  and tree surgery?

The whole culture - the trendy haircut and clothes, the we're playing underground sounds but catering to the masses, we're trying to be nostalgic to be cool with oldies like sneddon... not complaining, i can dig the sound.

To me they have similarities in their sounds.  Dusky is a bit more expansive in their productions.  I think both would feel at home being compared to each other. [shrug]

By 'ones to watch', I meant more along that to my ears they're from a similar UK garage-influenced background.  I know Dusky have been kicking about for a while now.  I never said my tastes were cutting edge after all.
