Fuking tune..  Also have the  new album as well. A lot more laid back than the 1st but pretty good stuff.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

Video is excellent.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

Love the track and video. Maybe the album. I dunno yet. Will let you all know.

Although this thread will be lost on most of this board. Most of them are still listening to Slovenia, eyes closed, imagining and wishing they were there. Dancing with a bunch of bare-chested Slovenians. With arm pits smelling like a plateful of freshly-microwaved Ginsters Beef and Onion pasties.

Keep it FLAC. Say NO to variable bit rates.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

If I may add another little witty nugget. If Bad Kingdom was pornography. It would probably be Ben Dover's "Fancy An Indian". It's that good.

Keep it FLAC. Say NO to variable bit rates.

Only on Tuesdays.

This is lovely.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

More faggot emo music - what is this board coming to? There's a distinct lack of anything muscular floating about right now, which is why Slovenia is such a top pick. Feel the energy.

Dear Flaresy,

I was shopping on Amazon and stumbled upon this book. Instantly I thought of you.

Kind Regards,

Henry.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

Get the Album Henry, bought it yesterday. Not a lot different from the last album, infact id say some o it was probably considered for it and its been lying around.
Much better than King of spin anyway.

Totally different genre of music. This is for lightweight faggots who drink European lager and wear espadrilles - muscular prog is for real men who drink hard liquor and snort brickdust. Who sings vocals like that? A wet blanket, that's who. Gay.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

I think you have to recognise things have moved on from 2000 prog by numbers.

Part of the problem

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

Having listened to it a couple times more, id say its not as good as the first album. The album as a whole just isn't as strong imo. There are a couple of tracks on this one, like on the first album, that are too gay and could have been omitted for me. But for the large of it its what you'd expect.

The unique Moderat sound is all over it. Hope they kind of move it on a bit more next time. If there is a next time.

Dermatron4000 also picked up that 'Milk' isn't mastered right. A bit distorted on the levels. Anyone else pick this up?

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

Good stuff. I still like Apparat's solo work much more though.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

Saw Moderat at The Roundhouse a few years ago.

Superb live.

Not really. There's a whole bunch of music from 93-2003 which beats the shit out of what's going on now for originality and style. Whereas now I might hear half a dozen tracks a year at most which qualify as the really memorable 'big tunes', then it was literally dozens. Production has got a lot clearer I'll grant you that, but the movement towards a stripped-down, over-compressed sound has robbed a lot of music of the warmth and character it once had. Very few people are writing unique and complex drum patterns - it's all kick/clap/open hat or cabasa with very little else, because there's an unhealthy obsession with separation and making things sound as loud as possible. The drums on the Moderat track above are pants by the way - I started laughing at the beginning because I thought they were taking the piss. So weak.

You're getting old Flaresy, you should probably deal with it.

I didn't say the music hasn't progressed, I said you haven't.

Re: Moderat - Bad Kingdom

First listen through to the album now - rather liking it so far - 'Milk' especially - good stuff.

I was basing it in your comments not what you are working on.
