Didn't Andy Page work with Sasha? Top boy on the ivories if I remember and a pretty mean programmer too.

Yea he was knocking out some insanely complex beats before it was just a case of dragging blocks about on Ableton. A lot of respect for his productions.

Re: Chris Lake

Filth also.

Re: Chris Lake

Not sure if Andy Page's beats were insanely complex.

Complex perhaps, insanely complex, I'm yet to be convinced.

Re: Chris Lake

...think he was what's known as a 'producer's producer'

meaning he would get incomprehensibly stoned and spend 3 weeks intricately programming infinitesimal fragments of beats, before laboriously weaving them into 9-minutes of unlistenably tedious instrumental prog

I can't begin to tell you just how far up my strada this is.

Re: Chris Lake

Lake was doing some nice stuff before he signed to EMI - who basically gave him a big fat cheque to appeal to the masses.

When/if 'EDM' ever dies, he'll be able to sit on his yacht and laugh about it all while making minimal techno under an alias.
