Makes our champs league final win against them, at their ground, even more remarkable.

Pleasure to have been there.

Re: The General Footy Thread

City's defending and goalkeeping was a real horror show. BM made triple the passes in the first half too.

Even sweeter.

Got battered all game, should have been buried out of sight and yet we still came home with the big cup.

Yes!

Re: The General Footy Thread

I did wonder what Bayern would do to United at the mo when I watched the highlights.

They're playing a different game. Pep tactics and that squad will be formidablé.

Or beeindruckend if you're feeling romantic.

Re: The General Footy Thread

Isn't BM's formidable tactics solely based on running down the opponents?

Re: The General Footy Thread

Bayern Munich wouldn't get a sniff out of Chelsea.

We've got their number big time.

Aye, as opposed to all the other teams who are a bit shite.

Although you might scab a goal with one chance when you get out of your own half & win on pens.

United having a reg right now but no need for excitement. I've accepted this difficult period.

Cheers.

They deserved to lose Fad.

Re: The General Footy Thread

Poyet in at Sunderland.

Not sure if he'll keep them up but should be able to bring them straight back up if he can't.

Re: The General Footy Thread

Is Poyet able to speak the common tongue yet?

Re: The General Footy Thread

In 1988 Liverpool won the league by 9 points.
In 1989 Liverpool had the title snatched from their grasp by a last minute goal.
In 1990 Liverpool strolled to yet another league title.

In 2011 Manchester United won the league by 9 points.
In 2012 Manchester United had the title snatched from their grasp by a last minute goal.
In 2013 Manchester United strolled to yet another league title.

Liverpool's demise came about when they replaced their successful Scottish manager with another Scottish manager.

Manchester United have recently replaced their successful Scottish manager with another Scottish manager.......

Put your house on Liverpool, lol

Periodic grunting is good enough in Mackem-land....

Awful control   Broken physics   Horrific AI   Weak voice work   Poor textures.

And that's just Wally on the pull.

The players have been told to watch Scorchio from The Fast Show to help them understand him better

There should now be a few years of minnows (Leeds, Blackburn) winning or (Norwich) threatening to win the title then.

If the pattern continues then City will win the league this season and get hammered 6-2 at home in the league cup.

Southampton sitting in 4th currently place.

Arsenal won the title in '91 So, going on Creeps post, and clutching at straws, maybe, just maybe, the stars are aligning once again.
