A belter of a set.....

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

"Belter" is an apt word to use in the context of Betoko...

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

Some really nice dark techy basslines in this, this is not his earlier vocal deep house stuff that many know him for.

My favourite set of the year so far. Wasn't sure for the first 20 minutes or so, but then picked up nicely, then listened again at home on a decent system and love it.

I nearly sent you a message to see if you had listened to this, thought of you when some of the techier sounds came through.

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

My view of this guy a bit tainted by what was said about him on here wrt that Leftfield remix....he also has had this annoying bouncy sound but seems to have moved away from that for the better on this mix

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

I agree, I steered clear for a while, but sort of forgot when grabbing this, and glad I did.

He has that Lurking Wolves remix on there, which I have been hammering.
Mind you, off that EP is Fiberroot's - Space Localizer track which is one of my tunes of the year, deep dark and dirty!

I think it was realising that a couple of tracks that I have really enjoyed were remixes of his that made me grab this set.
Like you, I think of him as bouncy house, but some of his latest stuff is pretty gritty.

Hes a woman beating coward

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

Didn't have gizzE down as one of those I have to say.

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

There's two good tracks on this mix. That's it. The rest if fucking ploppage.

Gizze. You're in disgrace here. You should write a full apology and have a long word with yourself. I can't even imagine that 10 decent Harry Hills and 20 lines of Special K would make this sound bearable. There's no excuse really.

Keep it FLAC. Say NO to variable bit rates.

Re: Betoko - A Grey Day In May

Jesus boys, feel like I have let the whole forum down!!

I will have to ask Zackster to do me a mix to clean my ears out.

Anyway, my wife reckoned it was good, wait till she gets home! She'll get a touch of the Betokos now!!
