Re: Sasha@Fabric

Did a good job from what I've seen on Facebook

Re: Sasha@Fabric

He was on form throughout. Incredible hearing him back at Fabric with that main room sound system.

Great night.

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Any flying CD's?

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Memory is a little foggy but I swear he played one or two classic old tunes. Can't remember what they were. Anyone know?

Great to be back at Fabric, despite some of the power tripping security guards and non stop strobe light. I've never seen a worse display of lighting than last night.

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Very good indeed. Dropped his new tracks and a dub of flutes at the end. Didn't catch track 10 though. Bouncer was patrolling for people videoing so footage might be limited. I did catch him do a smirk about 3 times.

Just one more thing...

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Classics-wise, he played platform - freaky chakra and the gai barone remix of push - universal nation.

He also played trigonometry, don't think he did track 10 thank god

That new mix of push is a monster. Would have loved to been there for that.

Re: Sasha@Fabric

I live that other than when it breaks down and the BPM builds up again. Spoils it for me.

Sounds like a decent night chaps

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Was a good one that. Properly levelled the place.

Security was a bit OTT, but hey, with what they have had to do to get the licence back, then fair enough, I'm fine with it.

Crowd was up for it too. Warm up duties from Craig was decent enough to a point. Think he'll file it under 'Reg' for the last hour though as it was a bit disjointed for sure. Popped in to see Dave Clarke for a bit in room 2 as well, which was nice.

Tunes? Nah, can't recall any noticeable ones other than Trig and what others have been mentioned already. Some right belters forthcoming though. Be nice to hear it back on the next LNOE podcast in the near future.

Taboo question on here perhaps but was was the age range of the crowd ?  I don't know anyone in London under 35 (at all actually!) who likes this type of music though that might not be saying much - for the last 20 years most of the people I work with/socialise with are bewildered by my interest in techno, prog and all the other stuff we listen to.

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Last half hour of the Craig and first half hour of Sasha was shockingly poor. But after that Sasha was on it. Had to leave just before 6 unfortunately so missed all the big big tunes as the kids where ill all weekend and had. Poor excuse but hey ho.

Still had a great night despite the fort knox security.

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Lol, average age was probably around mid 30s. A lot of silver surfers in the crowd

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Did Sasha stick to form and interrupt his mix half way through to tell everyone about how he wallpapered his front room last week?

Re: Sasha@Fabric

Entry in was pretty quick and it was great to be back in there.

Richards played some good tracks for the bits I saw him. Seemed quite quiet to start with - Room 2 was busy though. Saw a bit of the lady on before Dave Clarke who was pretty good.

Sasha rocked up late and Richards played on until about 3.30am. Sasha looked knackered to be honest/not with it to start with. Cue thunder/rain intro…

Didn’t recognise any tracks and to be fair it was good but plodded in certain sections before getting going again until the final two hours or so when some amazing music was played.

I had a little nod off on the seating behind the booth and a track with a thunderous bassline woke me up at around 4.30/5am.

As mentioned, security were a pain in the arse. I had a short Polish/Lithuanian wake me up and shine a torchlight in my eyes to check dilation - nice - that’ll teach me for being tired. A few other people I saw were carted off. One woman was taken off after arguing with loads of security staff about whether she’d put something in her mouth and what it was. Wouldn’t recommend doing anything in there now - torchlights and ‘welfare staff’ all over the show but that’s the price of the licence hey ho. It made me think of whether I’d return again as it’s just aggro unless you’re in the middle of the dancefloor off your nut.

Freaky Chakra was played and sounded amazing.

There was a track that reminded me of Water From A Vine Leaf - don’t know if it was a new remix or just something else.

Trigonometry was played to rapturous reception.

Wasn’t sure about the new remix of Universal Nation - probably as I just think of Oakey hammering it - and it had a trippy breakdown which reminds me of Alex Dolby. Listened to Gai’s version of Love Stimulation off the back of that which is amazing.

One half of the Cosmonauts rocked up in the booth from about 5am ish. Seemed like Sasha was playing a load of their tracks/productions as Dave Gardner (?) was loving hearing it all on the system. I had a brief word with him to find out what a track was at about 7.45am and he said it was their remix of Joe Goddard (presuming it was ‘Music Is The Answer’). Sounded amazing - see clips below. He then played his ‘Out Of Time’ track feat. Polica.

Had to leave at 8.15am to catch a train and it was still going on… Presuming it went on to 8.30am to make up for him being late?!

Would be good to know what clips 3 and 5 are:

Nice review there, DPM.

Yep. Just stick to alcohol. It's great, I know because I've been using it since I was 15.

Dan's hit the nail on the head here. Last half hour of Craig Richards was dreadful. He was playing some right old tripe and f*cking about with the vinyl on the breakdown. Completely lost the dancefloor. Half the room wasn't even moving. Sasha then came on about 10 past and proceeded to rape the first couple of mixes. Can let him off those as he was firing after that. Freaky Chakra off the GU San Fran was good to hear. Still sounding great nearly 20 years on. Also dropped Undercatt 'Parade' which is an absolute belter (credit Dave Seaman Radio Therapy). Few other heavyweight tunes including the new BOg on Bedrock and something I've been racking my brain for the last couple of days but can't remember the name.

The queue was around the corner, but the still got us in about 30 minutes later. Popped into Room 2 for Dave Clarke. Quite busy. F*ck knows what that is all about. Techno clearly isn't my bag, but a lot of people were loving it. Good luck to em.

Room 3 is now a chill out room. Gutted as loved it up there. Real shame. Maybe something to do with the new licence?

All in all, great to have fabric back. Stay away from drugs, kids ;-)
